Spring Break and Easter Eggs

We went home for Spring Break and Easter. My dad's family had an Easter Egg hunt.
My Aunt Mary Joe always has a big Easter hunt. She decorates, and dress up like the Easter Bunny and gives out Easter baskets with goodies to all the kids.
Since all the Grandkids (that would be me and my cousins) have kids of their own...we all started getting together again. Every Easter and halloween.
When we were kids it was every easter, halloween and Christmas!!! It was so much fun. She always had a way of making it very magical.
Well...here are some picutre from our fun.
I also got to spend some time with some really old friends of mine from elementary school and middle school. I forgot my camera!!! So...no pics of those. But, we had a good time laughing and cutting up about old times.

Passing of a Great Woman

My Great Aunt passed today.
Kathryn Griffis went to be with her maker today March 11, 2008 at 9:30 pm.
She slipped into a coma sometime that morning and peacefully moved on.
I'm so glad that I was able to go home and see her one last time before she
left us.

She was a teacher for 40+ years...the majority of those year taught at Caddo Mills ISD. Caddo Mills ISD will be naming the new elementary school after her.
What a great honor for her and our family.
I was blessed to have her as a Great Aunt.
She was loved and adored by many!

Now she can rest.
We will all miss her deeply.

Garrett's Soccer Game

Garrett's team won their Soccer game on Saturday. Garrett scored 2 goals he was also the first to score just like last weeks game.
Bryan on his team scored 4 or 5...lost count...and Brice score 1.
I'm not sure what the other team scored...but it wasn't as much as we did.
We really don't keep count..well...the kids don't. ;)
He had a load of fun.
There are 3 or 4 boys on his team that go to his school. So, he thinks he is so cool, because no one in his class room plays soccer like they do! ;) I can't believe it starts so young.
Oh...what a heart breaker he is going to be.
He told me last week that he kissed some girl named Katelyn. OMG! My baby is growing up so fast.
Too fast.
I had to tell him no more kissing. ;) He says, "Mom, I really like her...so I kissed her." So, I told him...well...I guess you need to make sure you brush your teeth every morning and before bed so you have fresh breath.
Because girls don't like stinky breath.
;)
I hope he is always open with me about girls and stuff.
But, I still think he is still too young! When did you have your first girl crush/kiss? I think I remember liking boys in 1st grade...and we would all giggle about it. But, I didn't kiss anyone until way later.

Up late at the Texas Cacus

Yes, I went to Cacus last night. I was up late helping count our precincts cacus votes. I'm sure I'm not spelling it right. Who cares! It feels so cool to have been apart of an historical event. When do we ever in TExas actually get a choice to vote for by the time the primary gets to Texas!!! I love it!
Texans can actually make a difference.
Yes, I volunteered to stay all night and count the votes.
It was one crazy night. But, it was good to see people out caring and wanting to make a difference.
This election is so important.
At the moment. Hillary is ahead in the delegate count and has Won Texas!!! Yippee. (I do realize that the count is not over!)

Go HILLARY!

Garrett 1st Soccer game with the blue knights

Well, we didn't fair so great! The Raptures beat us 9 to 7
Not too bad.
Garrett scored 3
Kim scored 3
and Bryan scored 1

We did very good passing and setting up the pass...the other team played magnet ball.
Garrett really had fun though. Only the parents kept score.
When it was over Garrett said, who won? I said, I don't know I lost count.
As we were walking back he said, mom we won!!!
I said, great good job!
He He!! It's all about the kids. That is why I love this league he is in. He does have some talent, but all the kids get to play and they all have loads of fun.

This will be his last year with 3 on 3. He moves up to U7 next spring I believe...or it may be next fall.
Then it's 4 on 4.
They start them out small and on small fields.

Well...I'm off to take a nap...then plant later tonight when it cools off.
