7 weird things about myself.

Well, apparantly there was some tag thing where I am supposed to list 7 "weird" things about myself. First of all, what is WEIRD to me may not be WEIRD to others. In fact to me, weird is my normal!!

1. I'm still afraid of the dark. I have to either go to sleep with the TV on or a night light with the radio going. I'm not sure what noise has to do with being scared of the dark..but I have to not only have a light on somewhere in my room but noise to. There is also one lamp I keep on downstairs that i can see shining up through my door.

2. I can not sleep with my door totally closed or wide open. I have this thing about being able to hear my door open if someone comes in.

3. I sleep two different ways. Totally covered with only my nose sticking out and a knee or toe sticking out from the covers. Or...Not covers or no sheets...except my feet have to be totally covered up. Strange I know.

4. I have this thing with shoes. It is very hard for me to throw my shoes away because I feel sorry for them. Okay..I swear I'm not crazy. But, when I buy a new pair of shoes I put my old pair next to my new pair so they don't get their feelings hurt. I will also put my old shoes on and wear them to Walmart or outside or some place not too fancy...so that they still feel loved. ;) I have done this since I was 7. Am I crazy???? I need to call this one into the "Does that make me crazy" show on Kid Kraddick in the morning show.

5. When cleaning the house I always to the kitchen last. (I'm talking about mopping and washing base boards and cleaning frig, cleaning oven, dusting cabinets.) I hate doing these chores so I wait until the last to do them.

6. I love walking outside in my bare feet on hot concrete.

7. I love laying on the grass in my backyard (on a blanket) and just looking at the stars for hours and hours.

well...these are 7 weird things I do.
some are pretty weird...like the whole shoe thing...but others I think are pretty normal.

God answered my prayers for the moment

God has answered my prayers. Well, at least he gave me two weeks.
That is right.
Two weeks with my honey.
He is coming home. But, only for 2 weeks. But, that is okay.
I'm not complaining. God is giving me the much needed small break I've been
praying for.
For any others out there that have prayed for my sanity, thank you.
God has granted our family some much needed peace and happiness.
Thank you Lord! God is surely Great!
I'm so excited...that I'm shaking right now.
It's going to be so awesome. My husband and I are going to get to sleep in our
"KING size bed" Okay...guys....Let's pray I don't get pregnant!!!
He has been gone for like...5 months...so you can imagine how fertile I am right now. And I can't take birth control...that is another long story.
uggg!!!!
So...just say a little prayer that Dana does not get pregnant.
Okay...that's it for now.

Shopping Spree

West Shopping yesterday.
Had fun!
Found some pretty cool stuff.
Going back to Tuesday morning soon.
Started tossing out old toys today and cleaned out from under bed.
Dance was today...Morgan had fun dancing. They are all so cute...all these little 3 and 4 year old girls running around in their little tu tu's.
Well...that's all I have time for today,
Aren't you happy!!!

Short but Tasty!!! Well not so short.

Okay, this one I will keep shorter than the last. I know...it was like reading a book. But, so much happened that day.
Wew!
So, we went to Soccer practice and then to the dreaded football practice.
Football and Soccer went really well. And Garrett was not tired at all. He didn't have problems today with anyone. The one boy that Garrett doesn't like wasn't there. Boys!!! ugggg...

Okay...Morgan went to Gymnastics yesterday and she is scared of the tramp. yep...Didn't want to do anything on it. Her Coach was able to get her on it with him and they jumped holding hands. yeah...she still isn't so sure about that thing. She said, MOMMA...I'm scared of those holes! I said, What holes? She said, mom there are holes on the (tamp e lean);that is how she says tramp...okay..I think she is talking about where the springs are. So, I asked...isn't there a mat over it. She said yes...but you can still fall into the holes.
Okay...I said, don't be afraid. You are not going to bounce off. It's just like bouncing on mommas bed. I said, you bounce on your butt all the time on mommas bed. She said, it's soft! The tampelean is hard on my butt. ;)
Too cute!!!
Okay...this fearless creature found something that she is not so sure about and is going to have to overcome her fear. Her coach talked to me after class and said, that she is a quick learner and is very focused when out in the gym. He said, lets see how she does for the rest of the period and then talk about putting her in 2 classes each week. We talked some more about the teams and other things.
So...we will see. Morgan really likes it and is having fun that is really all that matters to me at the moment. If she likes it enough to really stick with it...then...well...that's something we will talk about at a later date. She is 3! I think she is a little young for the Olympics yet.

We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he/she is someone today. ~Stacia Tauscher

I love this quote. Only because I have a tendancy to look ahead and dream about how great my children are going to be. I try and stay grounded...which if you know me...is very hard for me to do. I tend to live in the clouds and think happy thoughts even when things are crashing all around me. (It's a couping mechanism that I inherited as a child) ;)
By the way..this drove my mother insane growing up.
But, hey...I like to look at the good things in life and forget about the bad ones. ;)
I guess that is why I can deal with my husband being gone for like 10 months out of the year. And on top of that...live in a town all bymyself with no family and just a couple of friends and raise two children. I guess I don't see the bad part about this. Well..wait...I see that bad part. My husband is gone...I have not family support. But..the good things. Sometimes, in my case, it is good to be far from my family and I actually like being alone. Believe it or not...I'm a bit of a loner.
And the town I live is a great little town and we are about to get a big Soccer complex. I have really crazy friend that lives here and she is from Boston. I love her. I think I would go absolutely nuts without her. We never really see each other. She is on one side of SA and I'm on the other...but hey...we call and talk and vent all the time.
So...there you go. I think I'm done.
I need a shower and I need to go and spend some more money.
Actually...I need King size sheets. I have none!!!
And I want to also look and stuff for decorating.
I'm so bad at this...I need some one to come and help me decorate. Any takers????

Sorry...for the long blog again.

Monday Monday!!! So good to me!!

Well...my computer crashed on Sunday. yep...right in the middle of looking at furniture it just crashed. But, at least I'm still able to get to my pictures.
If you haven't done it....BACK THEM UP!!!
I'm lucky!
So...I'm a little pissed at Best Buy...because...well...they didn't install my Office like I paid for.
So, i get to take this back tomorrow and make them install it.
Duh!!!!
I told them no rush...just get it right the first time so i don't have to come back.
Well...tomorrow we will get it done.
And now...my wireless router is fried...but I think it just needs to be reconfigured for this wonderful new VISTA that microsoft is using for the operating system. no more XP. But, that really sucks because none of my games work on this. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA so...guess what girls...you are getting all of my sims CD's and Harry Potter and my favorite game the Godfather and Hitman. I know...I'm a gaming nut.
I'm a big gamer...but mostly role play stuff. CSI is some of my favs too.
I could probably sell them and get like 300.00 back...but nah...the girls will have fun with them.
Ummmm...no pictures until I get this thing back on wireless...I'm having to sit on the floor next to the router. So...if I don't respond right away or post every day you know why.
:)

Heather...I'm still working on getting those clothes seperated for you. Sorry it's taking so long.

Oh oh ... on more thing...I bought a ton of furniture today too! I know...I know.
But, I need it really bad.
My couch is 10 years old...K?
Okay...I bought a green couch and love seat for the Den/TV area...and then a leather sofa and love seat for what we are making into a living area..which is really the formal dining..but the way our house is...a formal dining table and hutch...just looks really stupid in there. And we have a huge breakfast nook area that seats 6...so we are good. I never have company over for big meals anyway...seeing that I live a million miles away
Okay...then I bought a sectional for the upstairs play room...which when Kirtus gets home we are working on turning into a Media/Gameroom for the family...not just toy room!!!
The...I huge King Size Canopy bed!!!! new Dresser mirror and Chest...yes...and count them 2 night stands.
People we only have 1 night stand right now...and its because my mom gave it to me and it didn't come with 2. I think my dad got the other in the divorce??? Ha!!! Okay...so my husband always complains about me having a night stand and he doesn't have one. Boo Hoo...So guess what honey! You got your nightstand and a chest for all your stuff. And the dresser is MINE!!! ALL MINE!!!! HA HAHAHAHAHAH
Okay..the wood is Mahogony!!! oooooo....i'm in love.
oh and a Leather armless chair to go in my..I'm mean "our" room.
I'm so freaking excited!!!
It's so awesome!
Okay..don't ask me how much it cost...because that doesn't matter. But, I did get most of it on sale. ;)
Oh...and I had to buy the king matress and box spring because we only had a really old queen.
Okay...so 800 Got Junk is coming to get all of my old yucky furniture...and I love it because they take everything apart and ship it away for ever and ever. I just have to take the stuff out of the drawers.
Carpet gets cleaned next Thursday.
Furniture is delivered on Friday.
Yee ha!!!! yes...i will be sleeping on my floor for 2 nights. Big deal! I can deal with it!

Well...that was my day...Oh GL is doing great in school. he said SHIT today!
HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!
that is another story for another day!

Recent pictures of the kids.

It's the new craze going around. Garden gloves! Get yours fast before your friends do. Be the first to be cool!!!
Actually, I'm not sure what possesed my son to put these on? He is either very creative or just plane weird.
My daughter...as you can tell...is still pretty much a big ham.
My little Dancer. She loves dance and gymnastics. Am I crazy? Yes I am!!!
And...yes...that is my big GL in Football uniform and his soccer uniform.
Notice the colors...Blue and Gold!!!
Well...enjoy the new pics.
I've got more to post...but I'll do it on Monday.
My camera battery is going dead.

GREAT WEEK

Well, just to let you guys know.
WE had a great Thursday and Friday.
So.....all week we stayed on Green.
I did not let Garrett play football today. We are boycotting the game to make
a statement. ;)
O...and he won't be playing next week either.
But, that is because his soccer game conflicts. I gave him the choice and he said Soccer MOM!
Okay...yes we played Soccer today and he scored 6 today.
GREAT JOB!!!
He saw his friend Preston on another team playing right beside his. Right in the middle in the game he says..."HEY PRESTON!!!! I play soccer too!!" Preston said, ME TOO!
When Preston scored he said, he yelled over to Garret, mind you during the game, Hey Garrett did you see me score a goal? And looked over and Gave him a thumbs up!
Then Garrett scored his third goal and said...no yelled...Preston...I've scored 3 goals!!!!
Preston gave Garrett a thumbs up! They did this the entire game.
Morgan stayed home with the babysitter! Thank goodness. Poor thing...she hates going and it is so dang hot. If it was cooler...I would have taken her. She always has more fun that way. I can't wait for her to start playing. Looks like next fall for her. If she wants to play at all.
Right now...Gymnastics and Dance is more her thing.

Well...I guess that is really it for now.

Hard thing to watch!!!

My son had football practice today. It's so hard to watch him play and try
and compete with the older kids. For some reason, he just isn't a natural at
football like the others. No big deal, really...but I see him struggling and trying
so hard to be like them. And he is so determined. And he never complains and he never gets upset. He keeps on keeping on. He is only 5...but playing with 7 and 8 year olds.
Today after practice I let him stay and play with the other boys while I talked to some of the moms. Usually we are pretty quick to get out and head home. But, today
I agreed to let him play.
Well, he ran and ran and ran. It was like watching someone play keep away and my son was it. The entire time. It got to a point where it was just sad.
The really sad thing was that there was a Coach/Dad out there throwing the football to the boys...and not once did he ever say, "Garrett...here you catch this one." Nope, he would throw it to all the older boys that had been playing for 2 years.
I finally said, this is enough. "Mommy to the rescue!!"
I said, "Hey coach...think you might want to toss the ball to Garrett too!"
He just looked at me and laughed.
Well...I was steamed!!! If kids weren't around I would have given him an ear full. But, no...I couldn't make a scene like that. I'm sure it was bad enough, me asking him to toss the ball to Garrett. So, I called GL and said, we need to go home. GL wasn't quite ready and complained the whole time...almost in tears. I finally had to say...loud enough for others to hear..."They don't want to play with you."
I felt so bad for saying that...but he needed to understand.
What a hard lesson to learn today. One he didn't need to learn if that stupid coach would have thrown him the ball once or twice.
So...my heart tells me to pull him out. But, I know all this stupid male bonding is good for him. He really needs to be around men, since his father is never here.
I'm very upset at that coach...but I'm trying to be big about it and teach my son to ignore ignorant people.
When we got home I gave Garrett a big hug and told him how sorry I was. I said, do you still want to play football?
He looked at me with his big eyes and said, "Of course I do! I love this game!!!"
That's my boy!
My mom says it is always so much harder on the parents than the kids.
As we got ready for bed, we practiced a reading book and he told me after he was done that he wasn't going to talk to anyone that is mean to him any more.
We talked awhile about football and he said, Mom...I just get upset that the coaches don't ever talk to me like they talk to Bret and Zack. (the really good players on the team.)
So, I had to explain about the differences between offense and defense.
I told him that...a lot of coaches spend lots of time with the kids on offense because they are the ones that score touchdowns.
I told him, but let me tell you a secret. A secret that i learned from a really Great football coach.
I said, Offenses will win football games....but Defenses WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Of course...Garrett smiled and said, I play defense, Mom!
I said...yep...And the Defense is just as important than the offense.
He said...Yeah...And I win CHAMPIONSHIPS!! ha ha!!! That's my boy!

Well...other than this...GL had another great day at school. I'm nominating him for Gifte and Talented...he is about his age group for language and reading skills. If he passes and is accepted he will take 45 mins every day to go to this Gift Class and do something?? Who knows?
Garrett's counselor is going to test him outside of the school....I just want to make sure that what I'm seeing at home...is right on for this program. I want to make sure that this is the right thing to do for GL.

Morgan had a great day at school...when we got home...she said, Momma!!! My friends are nice to me today! She said, Momma...Christian was nice to me too...but I wasn't nice to my friends momma. She said, The teacher told me I had to keep my shirt on in school! Where did that come from? I told her please Morgan keep your clothes on at school.
:)
She loves to chime in and be apart of the conversation. It's hard sometimes when dealing with this to remember she is sitting right there listening to it all. Well..the kids are tucked in and fast asleep.
I guess it's my turn.

Hope you have a gread night.

We are on a role!

Another Green day for Garrett. He did get a yellow...but was back on green before the end of the day. What was the yellow for? Ha!!! Cutting his shorts with his scissors.
Are you kidding me? Okay...well...I'm thankful it was his shorts and not another little boy or girl.
He gave the birthday present to Caleb. We missed his birthday party on Sunday. Mom was sick in bed with a splitting headache.
We had Soccer practice today. Morgan is not very patient when it comes to watching her brother. She wanted to play at the park...but it was just too hot.
She really through a big fit...but got through it just fine.
So....Garrett really likes Soccer...much better than footbal...but he told me.."MOm, I still like football. But, I like Soccer better." I said, it's okay to like one more than the other. I can see why you like soccer. Mom is okay with what ever you choose. So, He then said, "Mom, I want to take Gymnastics." I said, Well...we can do that but not until football season is over.
He said, Okay...what month is that? I was just blown away. It's like talking to a little adult sometimes. I told him. November. He said, Mom what month is it now? I said, September. He said, Okay! I reminded him that he won't be able to do basketball and gymnastics. And he was okay with that.
So, Looks like I'm going to have two little gymnasts in my family. Morgan was upset...she doesn't want Garrett to take Gymnastics. She is so jealous.
When tucking GL in, I explained why she didn't want him to take Gymnastics. He was okay with it. But, i told him, she will get use to it. Don't worry.
Otherwise, my day was pretty boring. I didn't feel so great today. I ended up with another one of my headaches again.
There is something in the air here ... and I need it to go away already.

Well...I'm off to bed.

Kirtus isn't coming home until Jan 29, 2008.

I need some valum....or just something to help with anxiety. Uggg... Maybe a really hot bath and a glass of wine will help.

What a Joyous Day!

Today was the best day I've had in a long time.
Garrett did great at school. No Yellows...No orange...he stayed on Green all day. What a great day!!! He got his transformer and then we went to his therapists office. What a great visit. Garrett really opened up today. Come to find out he is really worried about his dad. He doesn't want him to get killed. Poor thing. I've never really discussed this to him. I had no idea that he actually would understand a war zone. But, kids hear all kinds of things. It is possible that he overheard me talking to my mom or nanny. You just never know. I'm going to really be careful what I say when he is around. I don't let him watch the news or TV that has anything to do with Afganistan or Iraq. Anyway...before bed he told Morgan that he went to his Talking doctor today. She said, "Why?" Did you get a shot Garrett? Man...kids really hate those shot things, huh? Garrett said, "No" this is my Talking doctor. I love it when they talk together like this. NO yelling...no jealousy...just talking.
It was just a really good day and night.
We played a Go Diego board game...the kids liked a lot and then we played Jenga. Garrett and Morgan love this game. When the blocks fall they scream....JENGA!!! It's hilarous.
I just wish that dad could be here to play with us.
We found out that he might have to stay in Iraq for 3 more months.
Yep...it sucks. I just want to go home, curl up in my bed at home and cry.
I really miss home. I'm such a momma's and Nanny's girl. I really can't believe I've been gone for so long.
I just really miss having mom around to do things with.
Well...that's really about it. I won't get into how depressed I was yesterday...I had a massive headache and just wanted to die.
But...I came out of it. I watched hope floats. And for some reason that movie just made me realize that I can't spend the next 3 months boo hooing over how aweful my life is without my husband to help me out.
I've can't worry about that sort of stuff. I've got two kids that need me. I said a little prayer to God to help me get through the day and the next morning I woke up feeling so refreshed and ready for the day.
So...with God's help and a movie to kick me in the ass...I made it through Sunday and started a fresh day on Monday.
God really does work in mysterious ways. I'm just really blessed to have such great kids and a great family.

Sorry...It's been awhile

Okay, we have been super busy this week. Gymnastics on Tueday, Soccer and Football on Tuesday, then Wed...we have foot ball practice....Thursday Dance Tap and ballet, then Thursday Soccer practice.
Uggg...talk about exhausted.
I'm so tired. But the kids are having a blast.
I guess that is all that matters.
As soon as I find my camera plug...I'll download a bunch of new pictures.
Tomorrow is game day.
I bought some stuff to paint the car with.
I also have a new shirt that has "Garrett's Mom" and my son's # on the back.
My daughter is working on a new cheer! GO BIG BLUE!
She is super cute.
She wants to go to Gymnastics every day. She said, that she really likes it. Some of the mothers think she looks like Kim Gimesco?? I know I totally misspelled that.
You never know...she may be the next Nadia!!!

Okay...Sorry it took so long...I've just been super busy and no time to post at night or during the day.
uggg...

Pictures soon...I promise.

September 11, 2001 Where were you?

Where were you when the Towers fell?
I was 6 months pregnant with Garrett when the towers fell.
I was working at Avent in Richardson. I walked in to work and everyone was talking about it. I jumped on the internet to see if I could find any up to date stories. We had a TV in the conference room, but only could get Mexico on it???? So, we watched the 2nd plane fly into the building on a Mexico station. I remember sitting around with my co-workers in silence. It was like a moive. Someone said, "We are being attacked."
It was crazy. The feeling I felt was "Why God? Why now?"
We had our typical morning sales meeting and what was projected for he month. While going through each person in the room, we left the TV on. All of a sudden someone screamed. The Tower it's falling!!! We all turned toward the TV and were dumb founded. We couldn't believe what we saw. When the 2nd one fell, we were still in shock and just really didn't know what to think. Many people kept saying that there were 11 planes in the sky that were going to attack 11 different targets.
I was scared and worried what if they come to Dallas?
I left early from work that day....I remember driving home looking up in the sky...and for days after I remember how strange it was not to see planes in the sky being so close to DFW airport.
America will never be the same.
I miss the old America where there were no worries.
Is it gone forever? Will we ever get that back?
I have hope.
God bless all the souls that were lost that day, not only in the Towers but the Pentagon and Flight 93.
God bless all the people that tried to help and their health has suffered because of it.

Garrett had a great day!

So....Today was awesome. He did really good. He stayed on Green except one time when he said, "Shit!" Yep...you heard me. He said Shit. I guess I may have said that word once or twice when I fell on my hurt ankle. And well...I guess he heard me. "Bad Mommy...Bad Mommy"
So...anyway...other than that. No hitting or kicking. I'm so happy.
Well...He got a Bumblebee (transformer) for being good and following school rules.
We are all very proud of him.
We still have 4 more days left this week.
Well...it is bath time and brushing the teeth time.

Garrett got a flag

Yes!!! Garrett got his first flag in his football game on Saturday.
He is so awesome!
School was rough last week, so having some success on the football field always makes him feel special.
I finally got my shirt in and I'm taking it tomorrow to get #51 put on the back and Garrett' mom on it. Dad...we got you one too. I'll be putting the same on yours.
It was hot as heck out there. But, we all had a good time.
Morgan even got a snow cone to eat...though most of it was on her shirt.
No biggie.
You know...I use to go and buy all the really cute clothes at Gymboree and Jack and Jill and The Gap...blah blah. That is all Garrett wore when it was just he and I. I was a freak about it. But...GL was a bit of a neat freak. He didn't like to get dirty or spill things on his clothes. Now that my daughter has been born...well...I buy 2nd hand and Walmart and Target (on sale only) She has church clothes that are very nice...but it only worn for church. But, even then...I'm buying them on sale. My daughter is a mud girl...no kidding...so I learned really quick to stop buying expensive stuff for her...because it gets ruined and she grows out of it in 3 months. :)
I have a ton of clothes of Garrett's that I haven't sold. If anyone wants them...message me on my blog or email me.
They are all 3T - 4T and I think a littl 5T.
No need to pay me!!!
They are free...I think most of them are summer...but I don't know...I would have to go and look at them again. Heather!!! I thinking of you here. I can always mail them and you can pick what you want and either sell the rest or toss em'
Let me know!!

Okay...back to GL...he was so proud of himself and his team. We didn't win. We lost by 1 point. After he got his flag...the crowd was cheering for him...and he turned around and waved to mom and gave me a thumbs up! The parents went wild.
We are having lots of fun with this.
Okay, get this. Garrett has soccer at 5:30 on Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday and Wed. at 6:30 he has football. Then on Weekends. Saturday morning he has soccer games...only 30 mins. and then football at 1:30. Talk about busy busy busy.
(Garrett loves it. It was his idea to play both. He understands that if it gets to be too much for him he has to give up one)
When he came off the field he said, "Mom" I love this game!!!!
My little Line Backer!!
Then he says. MOM, "Can we call Pop Pop?" I said, of course you can! (Pop Pop is his grandfather...my dad...who was a football star in his small Texas town of Lone OaK) My father was the star quarter back....and was scouted by UT Austin back in the day. But...my dad was too slow...and back then they need a quarter back that could run out of the pocket. So...he didn't get a chance to play college ball.

I know...I'm all over the place in this blog...but I'm typing fast because I need to fnish up some things around the house while the kids are asleep. I think they finally fell asleep so I can go and get some stuff done finally.

My brother

Well, for all who is wondering. My brother made it safely to Kuwait and will be heading off to Africa in about 3 days. He has to get some more shots or something. He said that he arrived in Maine first then off to Ireland where he landed and had himself a dark lagar??? And watch some old guy slam a beer like it was water. Then off to Kuwait late that night where he said flying over the oil wheels at midnight is a real site to see. He landed early that morning and watched the sun rise while have a cup of kuwaiti coffee. He said it was a real site to see.
We miss him and we hope he stays safe.
I couldn't be more proud of my baby broter!

Love ya

Pictures of Kaira and Elysa

Kaira is 17 and Elysa is 12. Kaira is a Senior this year. I can't believe it has actually been 7 years already. Her father and I met in 1999...but I met Kaira and Elysa in 2000. We went to the Addison wild flower thing and got their faces painted. We had a blast. I remember her telling me, "My mother told me that she doesn't need a man to be happy." :) I just smiled and said, "Your mom sounds like a smart lady!!!" Elysa was very open from the beginning. She was 5 and full of love. I think that Kaira was cautious...but I totally understood. I remember how it felt to have a new woman in my dad's life. It sucked. But, I am so much cooler than my step mom. So, we just bought Kaira a car. A Sebring Convertible. yep. Not brand new!!! A 1999....used one...but it works. Well...it does now that I sinked another $1000.00 into the car. uggg...but that's okay. Just seeing the smile on her face is going to be enough for me. I only wished I had a car this cool when I was a kid...yeah..me and my station wagon is what I got. So, she should have a great time with her "new/used" car.
Elysa, well...she is in Band...she plays the clarinet just like I did. And she is also in Tennis this year. (I played that too!!) When they were down last I wanted to show her a few things...but we just didn't have time. So...next time you guys come down...we will go to the courts.
They are both growing up so much. I'm not sure how Ella survives day to day seeing these girls grow into such wonderful and mature women. I'm just blessed to have a family where we all get along and respect each others role. It's hard in a split family but so worth it when it works.
I love these girls like they were my own.

My son and his views on God

I had to post this. My son and I have been talking a lot about God lately. Okay...also...I need to tell you that ths proves Texans are just born believing how great they are. I've never said anything about Texas and how awesome are state is. I mean...we all here in Texas now how are state is the best...but I've never said anything to Garret about it. So...Garrett and I were talking about God and what he wants from us. Then he started saying how God loves him, and me and Morgan and Na Na and all the people in Texas. I said, all the people in Texas? Garrett says, yep...because God loves Texas the best. I asked, what about all the other states. He sat and thought for a moment. Then says, Nah...only Texas!
He smiled really big...and says...Mom....I'm just joking...God loves the whole world.

One day on our way back from church Garrett starts asking me about God and tells me that God is in his heart. I said, yes he is. Isn't that great! Garrett said, "Mom...is God really big?" I had to think about this one. I was like well...yeah...I would say that he is really big. Then he says, Mom...Can people see God? I said, well, we see God all the time. Garrett was quiet for about 5 mins. I said, Garrett are you curious about something? Do you have any more questions about God? Garrett said, Mom...Can people see God sticking out of my heart? At first I wasn't quite sure what he was getting at. I said, what do you mean? Garrett says to me...Mom...I'm small and God is big. If God is in my heart can others see him sticking out? I was like yes they can! He smiled really big and said, Good I'm glad. I want everyone to see God in my heart.

Garrett is having a lot of problems with his anger and behavior at school. It is a big adjustment. And we have been praying every night to God to help get him through the day. Of couse...his prayers are so innocent.

Dear God, please help me be good. God, please come out of my heart and go to my brain and tell him to be good and stop hitting people. I love you God. Amen.

Sniff...sniff...
I just want to hold him and protect him from everyone and everything. He is really having to grow up quick.

Uncle Wade is off to AFRICA

Please pray for my brother. He is on his way to Africa. A country called Dijibouti. It is right above Somalia and next to Ethiopia. Not the best country for an American to be in. But, he is excited because it is suppose to help jump start his career. He called me before he got on the plane. My dad called me to tell me that he told dad he loved him. :) sniff. Dad was very surprised. But, he should be....after all the crap...well..anyway...he is off and now both mom's kids are far away from her. Well...at least I'm only 5 hours away. I'm sure she feels really sad that Wade is gone so far away and she is probably very worried about his safety. I know I am. So...please pray for my brother to have a safe trp and for him to also stay safe while in a strange land.
Here are some pictures of my lil bro.

Labor Day AND A BIG SURPRSE FOR MOMMY

Well, today was a good day. We did nothing special. It rained here. So, we just laid around and had a good time. Morgan, Garrett and I played airplane. That is where I lay on my back and pull them up on my feet and toss them around like a seal would a ball. Well...not exactly...but you get the picture. They love it. And it is great for my abs.
GL and I watched the US open while morgan took a nap. GL was sick yesterday. Poor baby...stayed in bed all day. He is growing up so fast. *** sigh ***
Friday was an awesome day for him at school. He stayed on Green all day long. Never went to yellow once.
So...tomorrow it is back to school.
I signed Morgan up for dance again. This year she is taking tap. And GL is going to play soccer too. yeah..I know..I'm crazy. I told GL if it's too much...we can quit Soccer or Football...which ever he prefers...he said...Nope mom...I want to play both. So...we shall see huh?
Well..'m off to take a bath.

OH MY GOODNESS. I'm sitting here writing this blog and my son runs in screaming!!! MOM MOM....MY BABY TOOTH. IT CAME OUT MOM....IT CAME OUT. MY WE HAVE TO PUT IT IN A BAGGY FOR THE TOOTH FAIRY TO COME AND GET IT AND LEAVE ME MONEY. HE IS SO EXCITED. AFTER PUTTING THE TOOTH IN THE BAGGY, I MADE HIM RINSE HIS MOUTH OUT TO STOP BLEEDING AND THEN HE TOOK THE BAG AND RAN TO HIS ROOM AND I RAN TO GET THE CAMERA. WHEN I WALK IN HIS ROOM, HE POPS UP FROM UNDER HIS BLANKET AND SAYS, SHHHH MOM....I'M WAITING FOR THE TOOTHFAIRY. I'M PRETENDNG TO BE ASLEEP SO I CAN CATCH HER. :) I TOLD HIM, SHE IS LIKE SANTA....SHE WILL NOT COME UNLESS YOU ARE FAST ASLEEP. SO, HE SAID...OKAY MOM...I'M GOING TO TAKE A NAP...OKAY?
AFTER TAKING HIS PICTURE..HE SMILES AT ME AND BATS HIS BIG GREEN EYES. (GL HAS THIS LOOK HE GIVES ME WHEN HE IS GOING TO HUG ON ME OR TELL ME HE LOVES ME.) WELL HE GOT THE LOOK AND HIS EYES GO SOFT...HE SAYS, MOM...I LOVE YOU!!!
