Playing outside on a Warm Spring Night

They were running around the yard playing pretend. Oh...and playing with Jack our Jack Russell. Jack was the bad guy! hahaha! Oh Jack loved playing the bad guy. Though I'm not sure he knew that he was the bad guy.
The kids had so much fun last night. We stayed out until the sun went down and the mosquitos started biting.
It felt so good last night. There was no humidity and a nice cool breeze. I love this weather.
I took my Fancy Fancy (our ragdoll) to the vet today. Well...she has diabetes. yep...poor baby. So, she is on a special diet at the moment. No insulin yet. I'm hoping and praying that we won't need to do that.
We go back in 2 weeks to make sure she is doing okay and we will be checking blood levels again.
It needs to be at 120...and it was at 400.
Other than that our family is doing great.
I'll be up in the Dallas area over the memorial day weekend.
I can't wait!

Mother's Day coming up soon

A dedication to some pretty terrific mothers out there including myself.
We do so much for our little babies as well as our husbands. Each one of us sacrifice in one way or the other.
Being a MOM is the hardest and most fulfilling job on this earth.
It doesn't matter if you work full time or you stay at home full time. Being a MOM is a full time job in itself.
Being a MOM is great!!! It's special and it's something that no one can ever take from you. You will always be a mom! You will always be a Super Great MOM!
Here are some pictues of some pretty damn good MOMs! (Including myself)

Garrett's First Swim Party

This was GL's first Swim Party.
With his soccer team.
He had so much fun! Morgan got to go too. No one could babysit...so I had to swim so that she could swim.
She had a blast too.
I was the only parent swimming. I felt a little stupid...but I had to get in the water with my child.
Well...we all had a lot of fun...even if I was the only parent that looked like a wet rat! ;)

Please send Prayers

I found out on Friday that my Nanny Pearl (grandma) has breast cancer. There is some good news...and possible bad news with this.
The Cancer she has is a very treatable cancer. So, thank God for that. Because of my Nanny's age..she will not be getting Chemo. Which she seems to be okay with. Only radiation...for 30 or 35 days straight??? Not sure on that one.
Then my mom found out...and I'm not sure how..I'm a bit confused on that one right now...still dealing with the shock of all this...but my mom found out that my grandmother has a grey mass in her lung on the hymen. That is on the or close to the area where those tube things go into your lungs...Bronchiles? Okay, so my mom asked one of the cancer doctors about this mass and they freaked out and scheduled a scan specifically of the lung. (Okay, why didn't the doctors ask about this or why didn't her primary make note of this?) I guess all the other scans won't pick up lung cancer. Come to find out...it is very hard to see cancer in the lungs...unless they ae actually looking for it. A lot of times it gets diagnosed as broken blood vessels.
Okay, so my nanny had her first set of X-rays today and she gets some other stuff this friday and then Next Tuesday they look at her lungs and the back to the Oncologist...then surgery to remove the breast cancer on May 16th I believe.
I'm trying to be positive about this.
Trying to be strong.
This is my Nanny Pearl. She's been like a 2nd mom...she's my best friend. I can tell her anything and everything.

I just can't imagine life without her here.
I'm not sure what our family will do without her either.
I really don't want to think about this right now.
Please pray for my Nanny and my family.
I'm not ready to let her go home yet.

Parents vs the Kids

Yes, us parents played the kids today. It was the most fun I have had in a long time. Garrett thought it was so cool to see mom out there run her back end off!!! And yes I actually did. We had so much fun!!! Garrett said, he wants to do that again. yeah...maybe when mom looses about 50, 60 , 70 lbs...baby.
Garrett said, "Mom you are so good at Soccer!!" I had NO IDEA!
I told him that his mommy was quite the athlete (not a good speller) back in the day.
I didn't play soccer though until after I graduated from high school. Michael and I would play a lot of one on one and indoor soccer.
Anyway...glad to see him smile like that.
He had a great week last week at school...but sometimes I think he is a bit much for other kids and they pick on him. It is so hard to see how mean kids can be.
I guess I remember kids being mean but not in Kindergarten. I guess they all start early these days.
Well...that's all I have to report right now.

Have a great week!

GL's Soccer game today

GL had a great day on the Soccer field. He played well. The camera's batteries needed charging...so I didn't have a camera this weekend. Garrett's hair was spikey and blue. He loves doing his hair.
Garrett did score 1 goal today. The other team was doing a throw in and he cut the ball off and caught it with his foot mid air and right into the goal it went...over everyone's head. yep...I about fell out of my seat and he was filled with delight as I'm sure you can imagine.
Last weekend is the last game.
GL has a swim party on Friday. WOW GL's first swim party.
I'm going to be there...so..it's not like he is going to a party without mom yet. But, he is turning down his best friends birthday party to go to the swim party.

Morgan did very well today to. I'm so proud of her. But, she is a bit sick. They always act better when they are sick.

Well...more pics later once the battery is all charge up.

Having Fun with Morgan

Well, we got loads of rain last night! Which means..I got no sleep.
I'm so terrified of Tornadoes that every time I hear thunder and lightening I freak a little.
I start looking at the windows upstairs...watching the clouds. Getting on my computer...watching doppler.
See, here in SA...there isn't really a Tornado warning system.
You know in Dallas Channel 8, Troy or the other channels are up till the strom passes and all threats are gone.
Not here. You are pretty much on your own.
I guess these idiots think they are immune to tornadoes or something.

Okay...on to my other story. This shows you how attentive I am. ;)
Morgan was playing in the play room...with the Red Little's Barn. And she starts screaming. I'm in the bedroom picking up and dusting when I hear this high pitched scream like she is either stuck ... or possibly fell down and got something jammed inside her. (mom's know the difference between different kinds of screams)
My heart about jumps out of my throat. I take off running to the play room...when i see her on the floor with this stupid barn.
I say...MORGAN...are you okay. Her screaming persists. I run over to her and tears are rolling down her face. I check her over...no pokey things jabbing in her gut, feet, face. No BLOOD gushing from any parts of eyes or ears or nose or ever mouth.
So, I asked her. What is wrong!!!?
She says the "Red GAY won't come out!!!" "The RED GAY WON'T COME OUT" For the life of me...I couldn't understand what she was saying. "red gay?" What the heck is RED GAY?
Ohhhhh.....it hits my brain with a sudden jolt. "THE RED GATE ON THE BARN!!"
I try not to giggle. She is so distraught over the "RED GAY" Hahaha

Update and New pics from today's Soccer Game

I'm doing much better. I have my moments where I get really tired...but I've been walking every morning and trying to slowly do a litle bit of cardio.
Not trying to over do it.
I have my catscan on Tuesday. I'm sure there won't be anything there. But, WOW..it's a bit scary not knowing.
Then my follow up is on Friday the 18th.
I found out last week that my Grandmother might have breast cancer.
She has a not and her doctor in Dallas at Baylor did say it was...but they won't know for sure until they biopsy it.
Well...it's weird...because she has lost a lot of weight really fast.
Anyway...I'm praying that it's not.

Here are some new pictures of GL at his soccer game today. He scored two goals.
He was so excited.
I colored his hair blue and pushed his hair up into a faux hawk.
It rocked.
He was rocking the soccer field today.

update from yesterday

Well, I took my blood pressure medicine yesterday and headache alieve and was sort of out of it most of the day yesterday. This morning I feel so much better. I was able to actually get some sleep...except my son started vomitting last night. Uggg...but he finally stopped about midnight and I was able to finally fall asleep.
He seems to be doing better. Never had a fever so I'm hoping it was allergies or something he ate.
I'm still a little concerned about my blood pressure and the shakes...but this all could be related to blood pressure maybe.

This was the worst headache I have ever had...worse than the spinal headache I had after I had Morgan.

I'll keep you posted with how I'm doing. I'm going to try and fold clothes and hang them up today. I am so behind on housework.
Well...things seem to be looking up from here.

Thanks for any prayers given on my behalf yesterday.

Please pray

I normally don't ask for anyone to pray for me. But, now...I need your prayers.
I went to the doctor today with a terrific headache.
When I told him my symptoms and that nothing is getting rid of the pain.
They ordered a CAT scan.
My blood pressure was 160 over 110.
I asked him what he is looking for but he wouldn't tell me much.
He just wanted me to stay calm....and be optimistic.
I've been having a lot of different issues...blood presure is just one.
Another are small tremors...shakes...Not all the time...shortness of breath...again sometimes not all the time.
Restlessness and exhaustion for no apparent reason. No energy at all.
He gave me some water pills for the blood pressure and then told me to try Alieve for pain...and that seems to help the headache...but now I'm really sick at my stomach and my hands are shaking or really jerking.

Please pray that the CAT scan shows something non cancerous or something fixable or nothing at all.

I'm trying to be optimistic with all of this and not worry too much...but with two small ones and a husband that is never home. It's a bit hard.
Kirtus will be home in May..unless something happens.

Thank you...and I will keep you posted...with the results.

Morgan and Garrett

I took these pictures this morning before school.
GL has white donut stuff all over his fingers and mouth.
Oh..notcie the Ben Ten watch. He bought that with his own money.
He is so proud of himself.
Doing chores and getting Greens in school. Treating his sister nice and mommy nice and helping mommy by getting dressed in the morning with out me telling him.
I have a board and he gets a sticker for things like this. Each sticker = 25 cents.
The watch costed $20.00. So, as you can see he has been saving for quite some time.
He had 26.00 saved. And Morgan had $10.00 saved. She's still learning the value of a dollar.
Garrett's room is always clean with our new system..and I'm not the one cleaning it.
I don't buy anymore toys, except at X-mas...GL has to work for it to buy what he wants. He loves it and he is also learning how to count money...something his other classmates do not know how to do yet.
My week so far has been sort of crazy. My blood pressure went up to 155 over 118 today. I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow. I've been ordered to bed rest.
Ever tried that with a 4 year old?
I'm trying but she just doesn't understand.

Soccer Games

I'm having so much fun this year with Garrett's soccer. The team is great, the coaches are great, the kids are great, and the best thing is the parents are great too. The kids are really meshing well and playing together well. Today they owned the field by passing. The score was 10 to 3. Garrett scored 1 goal, but had 3 shots on goal and 6 assists. That is so awesome. I couldn't be more proud. The most important thing...is that he is having fun and he loves all the kids on his team. He has started getting a little nervous when he shoots at the goal...normally he scores about 3 or 4 a game. He doesn't seem to notice...and I haven't pointed that out. ;)
I'm sure I've said this before, but this league is awesome it is all about kids being kids and not about the parents. I don't know if you have ever been to team sports at this age. Parents can be really bad!!! I mean...crazy. I'm really glad that I don't have to worry about Garrett seeing that type of behavior here.
Well, here are some new pictures of GL and his game today.
I spiked his hair in a Faux Hawk. He loved it. Next week we are painting it BLUE! He thinks he is so cool! All the kids on his team wanted to do that to their hair next week during the game.
Morgan starts playing soccer this fall. She can't wait. I think she might be better than her brother is or at least just as good. Until then we are still doing gymnastics on Mondays.
Oh...for those who have 2 close together like mine or who baby sit 2 from time to time. Occasionally they fight over silly things like who gets to go through the door first. Who makes it to the car first. I've come up with a system. It's the captain system. On Saturdays and Tuesdays Garrett is the captain. That means...he leads us out of the front door and leads us on the field.
On Monday's Morgan is captain...that is her gymnastics day. Then I have a calendar for all the other days. Mommy gets Sunday!! That is may day to be first.
Oh...and I've remdinded them that I am the General. I rank higher than the captain. So, what I say goes...no matter whos captain day it is.
They seem to love this.
And the fights have ceased for the moment. They love reminded each other who is the captain and whose day it is. But, that is typical sibling behavior.
They really do love each other...but they hate each other just the same! ;)

We are also signing up for Soccer Camp this summer. I can't wait to see Morgan out there having a blast.
:)

Not much going on here

Well, not much is going on here.
I'm trying to find some things to pass the time during the day, other than clean house.
I've been planting...but sometimes I just get sick of getting dirty...and my hands look aweful. I keep trying to wear gloves...but they get wet..what does it matter.
So...I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday trying to find some ideas to play around with. My grandmother gave me her sewing machine and I want to learn or teach myself to sew. ha ha...I haven't done this since 8th grade.
But, I want to start making quilts.
And maybe try and make some cute clothes for Morgan...I'm wondering if it would be cheaper to make them than buy? And write now..she would probably wear them.
Ha ha!
I've been looking at starting my own business to help out with our income. But, I haven't decided what I want to doyet . I want to open up a store front here in our town that sells Soccer equipment and shorts and shoes and balls. But, there is a soccer only store here on the other side of town, called Soccer Locker.
Well...that is really all there is to tell.
My husband is out of town once again and well...I can't wait for him to be home again.

Spring Break and Easter Eggs

We went home for Spring Break and Easter. My dad's family had an Easter Egg hunt.
My Aunt Mary Joe always has a big Easter hunt. She decorates, and dress up like the Easter Bunny and gives out Easter baskets with goodies to all the kids.
Since all the Grandkids (that would be me and my cousins) have kids of their own...we all started getting together again. Every Easter and halloween.
When we were kids it was every easter, halloween and Christmas!!! It was so much fun. She always had a way of making it very magical.
Well...here are some picutre from our fun.
I also got to spend some time with some really old friends of mine from elementary school and middle school. I forgot my camera!!! So...no pics of those. But, we had a good time laughing and cutting up about old times.

Passing of a Great Woman

My Great Aunt passed today.
Kathryn Griffis went to be with her maker today March 11, 2008 at 9:30 pm.
She slipped into a coma sometime that morning and peacefully moved on.
I'm so glad that I was able to go home and see her one last time before she
left us.

She was a teacher for 40+ years...the majority of those year taught at Caddo Mills ISD. Caddo Mills ISD will be naming the new elementary school after her.
What a great honor for her and our family.
I was blessed to have her as a Great Aunt.
She was loved and adored by many!

Now she can rest.
We will all miss her deeply.

Garrett's Soccer Game

Garrett's team won their Soccer game on Saturday. Garrett scored 2 goals he was also the first to score just like last weeks game.
Bryan on his team scored 4 or 5...lost count...and Brice score 1.
I'm not sure what the other team scored...but it wasn't as much as we did.
We really don't keep count..well...the kids don't. ;)
He had a load of fun.
There are 3 or 4 boys on his team that go to his school. So, he thinks he is so cool, because no one in his class room plays soccer like they do! ;) I can't believe it starts so young.
Oh...what a heart breaker he is going to be.
He told me last week that he kissed some girl named Katelyn. OMG! My baby is growing up so fast.
Too fast.
I had to tell him no more kissing. ;) He says, "Mom, I really like her...so I kissed her." So, I told him...well...I guess you need to make sure you brush your teeth every morning and before bed so you have fresh breath.
Because girls don't like stinky breath.
;)
I hope he is always open with me about girls and stuff.
But, I still think he is still too young! When did you have your first girl crush/kiss? I think I remember liking boys in 1st grade...and we would all giggle about it. But, I didn't kiss anyone until way later.

Morgan's Easter Basket 2008

Here is Morgan's Easter Basket for 2008.
I created it today.
Here are my pictures from start to finish.
Hope you like.
I'm going Garrett's tomorrow.

Her basket is called My Little Ballerina
