Update

Nothing New happening here.
Garrett is doing great in school. All of a sudden he is just doing great behavior wise and of course academically. I couldn't be more proud.
Today he told me, "Mom, I'm so proud of you." I said, Why are you proud of me?
He said, because you always tell me good job and give me hugs and talk to me. I just really love you mom.
So, tonight we do AWANA's...yep it's starting up again.
Well...it's been up and going...I've just been doing football.
Everyday I pick Morgan up sh tells me that she was good too in school.
She has to be just like her big brother.
Poor thing...it's hard having a big brother.

That's really about it.
Pretty boring..but that is my life. Pretty boring.
But, I wouldn't have it any other way. I love being a MOM! It's the
greatest job in the world.

He has been called back 2 times.
I guess he is in the finals.
Very interesting!!! He cold win 10 million dollars.

Last Football game! Yee Ha! The Season is over.

Hey you GUYS!!! FOOTBALL SEASON IS OVER!
I'm so excited to say it's over until next year.

We won today...which made it ever better.
We would have made it to the play offs but since it is our fist year in
this league as a team the league won't let us go. Actually, that is alright by me!!! I'm ready for a break.
Garrett still has 3 more soccer games and then he joins Gymnastics.
He got upset because he told me...that he wants to be in basketball too.
I told him that Mommy needs a break..so only 1 thing right now until Dad gets home.
In two weeks...my weekends will be free for us to do fun things as a family.

We have a football picnic tomorrow...we should be getting trophy's and stuff tomorrow.

That's really about it for today. I really wish orgainzations wouldn't schedule things on Sundays. But, at least it is after church. I am so amazed at how many people don't go to church. It's weird....when i wasn't a Christian and not going to church...I thought everyone went...but not so many people go...or maybe they do...but they go on Saturday night...being that this area is predominately Catholic. ;)
We had a very busy day ... and get this...I was able to mop the kitchen floor, do dishes, take the trash out, and do 4 loads of laundry.
Am I a bad ass home maker or what?

Updates

These are Garrett's Football pictures and of his team.
The other picture was us before church.
Don't we all look so happy. Well...they do. I'm the one behind the camera!!
So...I spoke to the Gym again where Morgan takes...and I'm going to just sign her up for another class. So, it will be 2 gym classes and 1 ballet class. Garrett is going to start taking Gymnastic starting Oct. 29th.
So...my new schedue.
Monday...Morgan's gym.
Tuesday...Morgan's gym
Wed....Garrett's gym
Thursday...Morgan's dance
Friday................I'M FREE..................
After speaking with the football coach's...they really want Garrett to come back again next year.
(I still haven't let the whole incident go yet...but I'm working on it)
So...talking with my husband we were thinking about putting Garrett in a Karate/Judo/Martial Arts class.
I'm a little scared. Only because I can see Garrett really hurting someone that is picking on him. Everyone I've spoken with swares they teach dicipline and self control and GL would never do that. Ummmm....I just keep thinking that there is always a first and my son woudl be the first to seriously hurt someone. I don't know. I know it's not like he would be a black belt in 3 weeks or anything...but you should see my son pretend he is a power ranger! And FYI...my son has never ever ever watched that show.

Well...That's it for now.

Tuesday

Got my exchange dresser today. Ashley gave me a hard time at first...but eventually they saw my point. I'm not one to back down when I know I'm right. Ever heard of the customer is always right? Well...Ashley's furniture...found out real quick that you don't make promises you can't keep. Anyway...I got a $100.00 gift certificate for my trouble and a new dresser..since the first one delivered was damaged and they tried to fix it...which they didn't!!! Tried to sneak it by me. NOT! I'm not idiot! So....I'm happy...and they are happy because I'm not going to slam Ashley's. I actually like a lot of their furniture and it is reasonably priced. Ever watch Clean HOUSE!!! They use Ashley's a lot!
So...went to Gymnastics today too and dressed Morgan the same as her friend Charlese. People were asking if they were twins? Are you kidding? I think they were just being nice. ;) Anyway...I asked if they gave private lessons at this age. Not like I want Morgan to be this famous gymnast. I was just thinking she would like more one on one attention from the coaches. I asked the owner of the facility and she kind of gave me a weird look. I felt like she thought I was one of those mothers that wants to push her kids to be the best...blah blah blah...I'm sure I turned bright red. Then I started stammering and tried to explain my thought process which made me even sound more stupid. Anyways...they don't do privates unless they are at the competitve age. Which she made me well aware of that my daughter is not at yet. DUH!!! I know that!!! Am I wrong to want my daughter to get one on one attention? Well...it's no big deal. My daughter is going to demand more attention from her coaches regardless if she is in a class with others or not.
So...I still feel like an idiot. I think in the future I'll just call them that way they don't know who I am!!! He He!! I'm so sneaky!
On another note...Garrett got no color changes yesterday in school.
Today we purchased the new Transformers movie and I'm about to put on a pot roast for dinner tonight. Hope it's done by 4:30....that is 3 hours??? Hmmmm....Maybe, Maybe not.

Gotta go...
Got lots of stuff to do.

Monday Monday

It's a new week. It's Monday. We had a great weekend. Garrett won his soccer and football game. Sunday was my first day to sing in the choir and Garrett thought that was awesome. Garrett is now actually coming into the chapel for the first part of worship and then goes to Kid Worship. He is so excited about going off away from Mom and Dad.
Sunday we had a surprise birthday party for Garrett so that his dad could celebrate his birthday with him. Garrett was so excited!!! He got 2 Wii games and a Rockem' Sockem' fighting toy. Have you seen Toy Story? The two fighting games in Al's office...The blue and the red guy!!! This is actually Toy Story 2! That is the game.
Well...I'm off to get Morgan to school and myself cleaned up too.
I have a parent teacher conference today!
uggg...Pray it goes well.

While I'm bloggin

Have you ever had a chance to sit back and watch your child or children play by themselves?
Well...while I'm blogging and talking to a friend on the IM, my daughter is playing by herself. She has what she calls her sticks and balls. (They are these awesome magnet sticks and metal balls and you can build stuff with them.)
But...do you think she is building towers??
Nope...She has all the ball by the front door in rows.
They are her children. And she is teaching them...diciplining them....giving them kisses and playing games with them.
I asked her...How many children do you have? She says. 5
And she said...they have all been bad. They are in time out.
I just love the way she sees the world. You can learn a lot about your child just by sitting and listening to them play.
Okay...now...one of the brothers just went to jail. ;) I wonder which brother she is speaking about...hers maybe???

Heather...I just realized that if I moved to McKinney...Morgan and Luke would be in the same grade!! Isn't that cool?

Just blogging for the heck of blogging

Well...here is an update on Garrett. Doing great in school. His teacher is going to be nomniating him for the Gifted and Talented class. DUH!!! He thinks Garrett is bored. YOU THINK? If you have ever spent a minute with Garrett you will think either two things...man he is full of energy!! or WOW he really knows a lot!!!
I don't like to use the word "smart" because I think all children are smart in their own way. Garrett is what I consider "book smart" or science channel smart. He is like a little sponge. However...he lacks smartness in behavior situations. Matureity is lacking there. But, I've been reading a book called "Raising Boys" and it seems that all boys lack matureity at this age. (Oh...I'm a bad speller...deal with it.)
It helped me understand that Boys are more mechanical and more hands on and need to move. Where girls can actually sit quitly for 8 hours and play and follow directions. (they haven't met my daughter yet..He He)
So...anywho...Garrett is doing excellent academically and fair behavior wise. But, there is much improvement to be made. Garrett has a zest for life and learning everything about it. Last night when he got home he said, "Mom" I want you to write Mr. Garza a note and tell him that Garrett said he is going to be much better tomorrow. Poor thing...was already thinking about the next day.

Morgan...is a littl toot. what's changed? She is hammin' up with Dad. You would think she would be a total daddy's girl right? HA!!! NOT! She is a total momma's girl. Today when takingn her to school she says...Mom I don't want Dad to pick me up. Can you pick me up? "Of course I will honey." Morgan then says..."Will you tell dad for me?" Just in the past 2 weeks...her vocabulary and her usage has just exploded. I love when I notice little milestones like this still. She has a little friend in Gymnastics name Charlice. They are two peas in a pod. Actually, she is in dance and gymnastics together. Too cute! They dressed just alike this past Tuesday at Gymnastics. Both girls in Doka Dots...I wish I had my camera. I'm still kicking myself. They looked just like Nadia and Thea. Mom can dream right????

On a really good note. Kirtus got a promotion. When he gets back from Iraq. He is going to be promoted to a Commissioner. What does this mean for us? Well...it's great news for one. He is going to be paid like he was paid in Dallas...with less travel. Which means...dad is home more often. It also means that once he is trained...we are moving home. Well...moving home...next year sometime. That is our hope. That is what we are praying for. He will be able to work out of our home. I love this little town we live in. I love our home. It's huge and I like all the space we have....however...I'm tired of being so far from friends and family. I'm looking forward to living in the country...and possibly building...we will see, we will see. One day at a time.

That's all that is going on here in the Barton household.

Peace!

My Pictures are saved!

Well...Kirtus was able to save my pictures from my old lap top!
Thank Goodness.
We are putting them all on CD and them copying to my computer.
So...they are safe!!!

I'm so happy.

8 Interesting things about myself

Okay...awhile back a friend of mine posted something like this and I have put some thought into this. I really don't have the time to sit and think about 8 interesting things about myself that maybe others don't know. But, since my husband has been home..I've got a little bit more free time.
So, here goes.

1. I have recently found the Lord again and was baptized this past Mother's day. This is something I am very excited about and shout it to the world every chance I get.

2. I am a very shy person. One thing people do not realize about me. I have always had to push myself to talk to people and find it very difficult to carry on a conversation with anyone. It drives me crazy, because I have ths part of me that wants to be outgoing and but another part of me that forces me to be stand offish. People mistake this as me being a snob. Once I get to know someone, I open up and become more the person I really am.

3. I love music. I still play my clarinet still. I love to sing in the car, shower, church...pretty much anywhere and any place.

4. This is really hard to explain on paper...but I know words to almost every song that is being played on the radio. I am sort of a savant on this...I'm not sure...but I've always been able to listen to a song 1 time and then just know the melody and most of the lyrics. I'm not sure how I do this. I just do. Here is the hitch. I can't do it unless the music is playing.

5. I have a really good memory. I can remember the strangest things about my life. Down to the smallest detail. I play the memory back like a movie. It's the strangest thing. My mother always told me as a child I had what she thought was close to a photographic memory. I understand what she means now.

6. I am a very forgiving person. I've always had a very forgiven soul. This is one thing God has blessed me with. I still get angry when I've been hurt by the people I love, but I'm usually able to get through it and forgive them and go on with my life. The hardest one I've ever been faced with is my first husband. That took a lot of myself to let go of the hurt and anger and forgive him. It was a very humbling experience.

7. I am a very naive or gullable person. I think of this as a blessing at times and a curse other times. I tend to see the good in everyone or actually think that everyone is good. I get burned quite often by friends because I'm not always that good at choosing the right people to associate with. (thank goodness I'm able to forgive so easily)

8. I am a bit of a loner. Ever since I was a child, I've always liked playing by myself. Having time just to myself. My Ideal vacation...a trip to Montana or Maine all by myself where I can sit on a back porch of an old farm house or old house over looking the ocean and just sit. All by myself. No talking...no kids....no husband...just me, myself and I. Don't get me wrong. I love my kids and family. But, I love the silence. I love being alone and left to my thoughts. It is very refreshing.

So here are a few things about me that you may or may not have known.

New Furniture

Okay, people here is my new furniture. I think it was worth the wait. We have a Leather 1/2 sectional in the play room...one day to be media room. A Leather sofa and love seat in the dining room....which at the moment we are making a living area with no TV. It gives us a space where we can relax with no TV. Also, the kids love to play in their while mom is cooking. I can see them much better and they can see me. The Green couches are fabric...I wanted a pretty casual room...so I kept my tables...and the same color sceme as before. I really like this much better than my old couches. I purchased a King size Bed Canopy...with Dresser mirror, chest and a chair for our bedroom...and 2 night stands. We love it. Now we just have to put on the finishing touches. Window treatments...home accents. I'm looking for some antique...small tables for the 2nd living area. New ceiling fans in our bedroom, the play room and the family room. We have save for over 2 years to do this...I'm so excited to finally be able to make our home feel more like our home. This is very exciting for me. Kirtus and I have been married for 5 years and this will be our third major purchase together. House, Van and then the furniture. Well...I actually purchased it...but he loves my taste...so...it's like he was there too. ;)
We are having lots of fun with our new furniture and loving every minute of it!!!!

My couches. The first furniture I bought after I divorced Michael. Ahhhh Memories! It has served it's purpose in my life and now I must say Goodbye.
Ahhh...the memories of me and my Sasha baby girl sleeping together on the big couch. Me breaking the ottaman when I sold my first big network. Ahhh...the kids playing fort with all the pillows. (I won't miss picking up damn pillows all day long)
Goodbye bed of 12 years...and headboard and dresser and chest of 34 years. yes...these were my paretns headboard, dresser and chest. It's all gone!!
I am not sad.
Getting rid of Furniture is not a crutch I carry!!! It's the shoes I have an issue with.
But, so long furniture. I'm done with you! Out with the old and in with the new!!!!

7 weird things about myself.

Well, apparantly there was some tag thing where I am supposed to list 7 "weird" things about myself. First of all, what is WEIRD to me may not be WEIRD to others. In fact to me, weird is my normal!!

1. I'm still afraid of the dark. I have to either go to sleep with the TV on or a night light with the radio going. I'm not sure what noise has to do with being scared of the dark..but I have to not only have a light on somewhere in my room but noise to. There is also one lamp I keep on downstairs that i can see shining up through my door.

2. I can not sleep with my door totally closed or wide open. I have this thing about being able to hear my door open if someone comes in.

3. I sleep two different ways. Totally covered with only my nose sticking out and a knee or toe sticking out from the covers. Or...Not covers or no sheets...except my feet have to be totally covered up. Strange I know.

4. I have this thing with shoes. It is very hard for me to throw my shoes away because I feel sorry for them. Okay..I swear I'm not crazy. But, when I buy a new pair of shoes I put my old pair next to my new pair so they don't get their feelings hurt. I will also put my old shoes on and wear them to Walmart or outside or some place not too fancy...so that they still feel loved. ;) I have done this since I was 7. Am I crazy???? I need to call this one into the "Does that make me crazy" show on Kid Kraddick in the morning show.

5. When cleaning the house I always to the kitchen last. (I'm talking about mopping and washing base boards and cleaning frig, cleaning oven, dusting cabinets.) I hate doing these chores so I wait until the last to do them.

6. I love walking outside in my bare feet on hot concrete.

7. I love laying on the grass in my backyard (on a blanket) and just looking at the stars for hours and hours.

well...these are 7 weird things I do.
some are pretty weird...like the whole shoe thing...but others I think are pretty normal.

God answered my prayers for the moment

God has answered my prayers. Well, at least he gave me two weeks.
That is right.
Two weeks with my honey.
He is coming home. But, only for 2 weeks. But, that is okay.
I'm not complaining. God is giving me the much needed small break I've been
praying for.
For any others out there that have prayed for my sanity, thank you.
God has granted our family some much needed peace and happiness.
Thank you Lord! God is surely Great!
I'm so excited...that I'm shaking right now.
It's going to be so awesome. My husband and I are going to get to sleep in our
"KING size bed" Okay...guys....Let's pray I don't get pregnant!!!
He has been gone for like...5 months...so you can imagine how fertile I am right now. And I can't take birth control...that is another long story.
uggg!!!!
So...just say a little prayer that Dana does not get pregnant.
Okay...that's it for now.

Shopping Spree

West Shopping yesterday.
Had fun!
Found some pretty cool stuff.
Going back to Tuesday morning soon.
Started tossing out old toys today and cleaned out from under bed.
Dance was today...Morgan had fun dancing. They are all so cute...all these little 3 and 4 year old girls running around in their little tu tu's.
Well...that's all I have time for today,
Aren't you happy!!!

Short but Tasty!!! Well not so short.

Okay, this one I will keep shorter than the last. I know...it was like reading a book. But, so much happened that day.
Wew!
So, we went to Soccer practice and then to the dreaded football practice.
Football and Soccer went really well. And Garrett was not tired at all. He didn't have problems today with anyone. The one boy that Garrett doesn't like wasn't there. Boys!!! ugggg...

Okay...Morgan went to Gymnastics yesterday and she is scared of the tramp. yep...Didn't want to do anything on it. Her Coach was able to get her on it with him and they jumped holding hands. yeah...she still isn't so sure about that thing. She said, MOMMA...I'm scared of those holes! I said, What holes? She said, mom there are holes on the (tamp e lean);that is how she says tramp...okay..I think she is talking about where the springs are. So, I asked...isn't there a mat over it. She said yes...but you can still fall into the holes.
Okay...I said, don't be afraid. You are not going to bounce off. It's just like bouncing on mommas bed. I said, you bounce on your butt all the time on mommas bed. She said, it's soft! The tampelean is hard on my butt. ;)
Too cute!!!
Okay...this fearless creature found something that she is not so sure about and is going to have to overcome her fear. Her coach talked to me after class and said, that she is a quick learner and is very focused when out in the gym. He said, lets see how she does for the rest of the period and then talk about putting her in 2 classes each week. We talked some more about the teams and other things.
So...we will see. Morgan really likes it and is having fun that is really all that matters to me at the moment. If she likes it enough to really stick with it...then...well...that's something we will talk about at a later date. She is 3! I think she is a little young for the Olympics yet.

We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he/she is someone today. ~Stacia Tauscher

I love this quote. Only because I have a tendancy to look ahead and dream about how great my children are going to be. I try and stay grounded...which if you know me...is very hard for me to do. I tend to live in the clouds and think happy thoughts even when things are crashing all around me. (It's a couping mechanism that I inherited as a child) ;)
By the way..this drove my mother insane growing up.
But, hey...I like to look at the good things in life and forget about the bad ones. ;)
I guess that is why I can deal with my husband being gone for like 10 months out of the year. And on top of that...live in a town all bymyself with no family and just a couple of friends and raise two children. I guess I don't see the bad part about this. Well..wait...I see that bad part. My husband is gone...I have not family support. But..the good things. Sometimes, in my case, it is good to be far from my family and I actually like being alone. Believe it or not...I'm a bit of a loner.
And the town I live is a great little town and we are about to get a big Soccer complex. I have really crazy friend that lives here and she is from Boston. I love her. I think I would go absolutely nuts without her. We never really see each other. She is on one side of SA and I'm on the other...but hey...we call and talk and vent all the time.
So...there you go. I think I'm done.
I need a shower and I need to go and spend some more money.
Actually...I need King size sheets. I have none!!!
And I want to also look and stuff for decorating.
I'm so bad at this...I need some one to come and help me decorate. Any takers????

Sorry...for the long blog again.

Monday Monday!!! So good to me!!

Well...my computer crashed on Sunday. yep...right in the middle of looking at furniture it just crashed. But, at least I'm still able to get to my pictures.
If you haven't done it....BACK THEM UP!!!
I'm lucky!
So...I'm a little pissed at Best Buy...because...well...they didn't install my Office like I paid for.
So, i get to take this back tomorrow and make them install it.
Duh!!!!
I told them no rush...just get it right the first time so i don't have to come back.
Well...tomorrow we will get it done.
And now...my wireless router is fried...but I think it just needs to be reconfigured for this wonderful new VISTA that microsoft is using for the operating system. no more XP. But, that really sucks because none of my games work on this. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA so...guess what girls...you are getting all of my sims CD's and Harry Potter and my favorite game the Godfather and Hitman. I know...I'm a gaming nut.
I'm a big gamer...but mostly role play stuff. CSI is some of my favs too.
I could probably sell them and get like 300.00 back...but nah...the girls will have fun with them.
Ummmm...no pictures until I get this thing back on wireless...I'm having to sit on the floor next to the router. So...if I don't respond right away or post every day you know why.
:)

Heather...I'm still working on getting those clothes seperated for you. Sorry it's taking so long.

Oh oh ... on more thing...I bought a ton of furniture today too! I know...I know.
But, I need it really bad.
My couch is 10 years old...K?
Okay...I bought a green couch and love seat for the Den/TV area...and then a leather sofa and love seat for what we are making into a living area..which is really the formal dining..but the way our house is...a formal dining table and hutch...just looks really stupid in there. And we have a huge breakfast nook area that seats 6...so we are good. I never have company over for big meals anyway...seeing that I live a million miles away
Okay...then I bought a sectional for the upstairs play room...which when Kirtus gets home we are working on turning into a Media/Gameroom for the family...not just toy room!!!
The...I huge King Size Canopy bed!!!! new Dresser mirror and Chest...yes...and count them 2 night stands.
People we only have 1 night stand right now...and its because my mom gave it to me and it didn't come with 2. I think my dad got the other in the divorce??? Ha!!! Okay...so my husband always complains about me having a night stand and he doesn't have one. Boo Hoo...So guess what honey! You got your nightstand and a chest for all your stuff. And the dresser is MINE!!! ALL MINE!!!! HA HAHAHAHAHAH
Okay..the wood is Mahogony!!! oooooo....i'm in love.
oh and a Leather armless chair to go in my..I'm mean "our" room.
I'm so freaking excited!!!
It's so awesome!
Okay..don't ask me how much it cost...because that doesn't matter. But, I did get most of it on sale. ;)
Oh...and I had to buy the king matress and box spring because we only had a really old queen.
Okay...so 800 Got Junk is coming to get all of my old yucky furniture...and I love it because they take everything apart and ship it away for ever and ever. I just have to take the stuff out of the drawers.
Carpet gets cleaned next Thursday.
Furniture is delivered on Friday.
Yee ha!!!! yes...i will be sleeping on my floor for 2 nights. Big deal! I can deal with it!

Well...that was my day...Oh GL is doing great in school. he said SHIT today!
HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!
that is another story for another day!

Recent pictures of the kids.

It's the new craze going around. Garden gloves! Get yours fast before your friends do. Be the first to be cool!!!
Actually, I'm not sure what possesed my son to put these on? He is either very creative or just plane weird.
My daughter...as you can tell...is still pretty much a big ham.
My little Dancer. She loves dance and gymnastics. Am I crazy? Yes I am!!!
And...yes...that is my big GL in Football uniform and his soccer uniform.
Notice the colors...Blue and Gold!!!
Well...enjoy the new pics.
I've got more to post...but I'll do it on Monday.
My camera battery is going dead.

GREAT WEEK

Well, just to let you guys know.
WE had a great Thursday and Friday.
So.....all week we stayed on Green.
I did not let Garrett play football today. We are boycotting the game to make
a statement. ;)
O...and he won't be playing next week either.
But, that is because his soccer game conflicts. I gave him the choice and he said Soccer MOM!
Okay...yes we played Soccer today and he scored 6 today.
GREAT JOB!!!
He saw his friend Preston on another team playing right beside his. Right in the middle in the game he says..."HEY PRESTON!!!! I play soccer too!!" Preston said, ME TOO!
When Preston scored he said, he yelled over to Garret, mind you during the game, Hey Garrett did you see me score a goal? And looked over and Gave him a thumbs up!
Then Garrett scored his third goal and said...no yelled...Preston...I've scored 3 goals!!!!
Preston gave Garrett a thumbs up! They did this the entire game.
Morgan stayed home with the babysitter! Thank goodness. Poor thing...she hates going and it is so dang hot. If it was cooler...I would have taken her. She always has more fun that way. I can't wait for her to start playing. Looks like next fall for her. If she wants to play at all.
Right now...Gymnastics and Dance is more her thing.

Well...I guess that is really it for now.
