GL and meet the teacher

I met GL's teacher last night. WOW. It hit me last night while walking through the halls of his new school. It's really here. He is growing up. His school career starts on MOnday the 27th. I'm feeled with so many emotions like, fear, anxiety, and absolute joy.
Before I was pregnant with GL, I had surgery done on my ovary and flaupian tube. They were removed totally because of a cyst the size of a grapefruit had developed. This cyst crushed my ovary. This cut my chances of having a child in 1/2. I remember being very upset and just knew I would be one of those women going to fertility help years later. (not that there is anything wrong with that. My sister is going through this and at the moment not going so well)
Think to my surprise when I wound up pregnant. I was so excited. What a special child this was going to be.
I read children's books, mainly classics, while carrying him. Played music for him and sang lulby's to him every night while he was in utero.
One special moment during my pregnancy, we were sitting in front of the TV watching the Jackson 5 reunion. Do you guys remember this? MJ sang with Brittany. As I was sitting there, my stomach started moving more than normal. When a commerical would come on it would stop...than continue when MJ started singing. I just knew he was going to be the next Mozart.
Well, he came into the world quiet not screaming and was the best baby ever. He slept through the night at 3 months. He never cried unless he needed his diaper changed or hungry. He was the happiest baby and is a very happy child. So, much of his personality I see now, I saw when he was a tiny babe.
I'm just not sure I'm ready for him to grow up.
He's my baby boy and always will be.
I'm so blessed to have both GL and Morgan.
They bring so much joy to my life.

Well, Mr. Garza is GL's teacher. Yes, a man. I'm very proud that he got this teacher. I think GL needs more positive male role models in his life. His daddy is gone so much he needs to see positive role models in our society that are men.
Garrett loved his room and was able to find his name pretty quick. He walked right up to Mr. Garza and introduced himself, without my help. I'm so proud of him. What a little gentlemen. He told Mr. Garza that he was going to be an astronaut but not until he went to college. (sniff sniff...a tear roles down my face)
He was so proud of his room. He even met some friends while I emptied out all of his school supplies. We then went on a scavenger hunt for the library, cafeteria, playground, music room, computer lab, nurse's office and the dreaded principals office. ;)
So....Monday we start school. Wish us luck.
GL probably won't need it.
But, Mommy will.

New pictures of GL and Morgan

We are having lots of fun with my new camera.
Hope you like the most recent pics.
GL starts school in two weeks. Oh My Goodness.
We have meet the teacher night next wed. And I've volunteered to be the TEAM MOM for his football team.
I must be crazy huh?
GL did much better at football practice yesterday and he got his sticker and an ice cream for behaving like he should. He did have to run laps one time for pulling someone's flag.
I was so worried about him....It's so hard to see them go through things like he is going through. But, this is the best thing for him right now. GOD has answered my prayers.

Well...I'm off...like a dirty shirt.

Today - my head hurts so bad.

Okay, I have a horrible cough I can't seem to shake and I have a head ache. Other than that I'm doing great!
Went to church this morning.
It was good....but hard to really concentrate because of my head.
Morgan got into a fight with another little girl. This is becoming a regular occurance. She is use to being the only girl in with her Sunday school class and now we are getting more families...and well...she doesn't want to share her teacher.
:)
Garrett didn't do so well today either. He kicked a "girl." Please pray for me with this child. He is have a problem with impulse control. We are really working on how he responds to other children and well...he is just having a lot of problems. I pray a lot for God's help and guidance and I know he will lead me the right way. One thing that was cute...was after sunday school we went to the car and Garrett and I were talking about his behavior and what he should have done. I like to remind him from time to time that God is always watching even when mommy isn't. Anway, in the Van after we had our talk. I told Garrett that I had to punish him for behaving this way. I told him that I was going to take his fishing gun away for 1 week. If he did good next Sunday and all week he could have it back.
He responded in plees not to that. I stood strong and told him no matter how much cray and begging he was not getting it back. He stopped immdiately. As I pulled up into our driveway Garrett starts crying again histarically. I asked, what is the matter? He responded, Mom!!! I broke a commandment today. I said, "What???" He said, MOM!! I broke one of God's commandments!!! I said, which one? By this time he had gotten out of his seat in the van and climbed into my lap in the front seat and was still balling!! Again, I asked...honey which one. He said, MOM I broke two of them. (followed by crying and sobbs) Again, which ones? He said, MOM!!! I broke the one that says Love your neighbor. I kicked that girl. I gave him a big hug and said, "Did you ask God to forgive you?" And then he said, but mom!!! I broke 2 not just 1. I said, well which other one. Listen to your mom and dad. He said, I keep breakinng that one all the time! Sobs and Sobs followed. He said, Mom!!! I'm so sorry. I want to do good.
Okay...I gave him another hug and told him that really cool part about this is that even though you broke some of God's commandmants he still loves you. God knows you are not going to be perfect. But, he wants you to try your hardest to follow his commandments. So, again he is crying...but I broke one of the commandments. I said, Okay...do you feel sorry for that? And he said, yes and then I said, well you need to ask him to forgive you. And then you need to make sure you don't do it again.
He stoped crying and gave me a big hug.
It's funny how much they really do understand and how much they really want to do right by God.
As we were going inside the house, he looks at me and says, Mom...I know you have to take my fishing gun because I was bad. I'm sorry. I'll do better next Church day.
I gave him a big hug!!
All I can do is pray that he really does try better next time.
He has his bad days and his good. I know God is with him, otherwise I don't think he would have quite understood or felt bad for breaking one of the commandments (he learned these in Sunday school) He tells me all the time that God is in his heart. So, I know God will help him with this problem he is having and help me be more patient and understanding.
It's funny how when he was 4, we didn't have any of these issues. He never hit his friends or anything. Then this past year he has changed so much.

Okay...I'm going to go lay down and take a nap.

Life just sucks sometimes

You know. Sometimes life just sucks. Yep that is just the way it is. We don't always get what we want or when we want it. You can either sit around moan and groan and feel sorry for yourself or you can get your ass out off the house and be apart of life. You know....you have to give to life in order for life to give back sometimes. Oh and don't forget to trust in the Lord. He wants to help you so let him.

Okay..I'm done.

I hope all of you have a great Week.
Kirtus we miss you so much. Garrett can't wait to go camping with only you. He is stressing the only you part. He doesn't want his sister to go or his mom. Just father and son thing!!!
Call me please...we need to talk.

Talk to you later

Kids, sports and parents

Why are parents so obessesed with their child's extra curricular activities?
I guess it's hard for me to understand why parents make such a big deal out things like this. I guess I can understand being a little involved in your child's team, if say they were in middle or high school. But, a team made up of 5, 6 and 7 year olds? The coach said, on the first day. I really want to win. I like to win. But, don't worry, league rules say every child has to get in 10 plays. I don't know much about flag football. But, 10 plays can be made in 1 quarter...actually 10 plays can be made in the first possesion. So...that isn't so comforting. My son is 5 and there are three other boys the same age. I think the coach said that there are 7 6 year olds and 6 7 year olds. Hmmm....4 5 year olds that won't see much play time. Today was a good practice but I can tell GL was getting frustrated. They had him as an offensive line man. Actually all 4 5 years were offensive line man. They don't do much but block in flag and that's hard when you can't touch. So, GL got sick of not being able to pull the flag and started chasing his own teammates!!! I laughed so hard. I thought it was cute. Oh no...the other parents were not really upset...but couldn't believe that he would do that.
I said, well it's his first year to play, and the coaches are teaching him anything except how to stand still and block. He is bored and wants to run and chase the ball like the older boys.
Right now...GL is having a lot of fun and loves all of his teammates. I don't think he realizes that he isn't getting to play like the other kids. I'm not making a big deal about it to him. I want him to have fun and learn to play on a team. I think it builds character and also, some of these boys could be in his Kindergarten class which will be really nice for him to start out having a friend already.
Also, found out today that practice will be on Tuesday, Wed. and Thursday. Since Wed. nights are Awana nights looks like we will not be going to practice. I still think my son would benefit more from learning about Christ then football practice.
The rules in our league states that we have to make every effort to attend every practice for the team.
I think I'm still doing that. Wed. nights are just out of the question.
So...again...why are parents so obessesed with their kids and sports. I guess they just want their child to do well and fit in with all the other kids.
I think we all know what it is like not to fit in with your peers and it is hard being a kid. Kids are just down right mean sometimes. I think we don't want our children to go through some of the trials we did as children so we worry and become obessesed about our kids and what they are doing. I'm sure there are those parents that want to relive their childhood through their children. Me, not being one of those parents. However, I do worry about Garrett and how he will be accepted by his peers. I worry about him getting hurt. I remember how hard it was. I just want him to be proud of himself no matter what he does with his life.
Right now...he loves Science and Space and wants to be an astronaut when he grows up or fly airplanes or work for NASA. We've already taken him to NASA and I think we need to make another trip this year when dad gets home. I know one day my little baby boy is going to be flying to Mars or maybe he will help build a space station on the moon that will be used a fueling station of some sort.
Who knows...maybe he will invent something that will help man fly farther than they have ever flown before.
I don't know...I don't care...really...as long as he has God in his life and loves himself and others...that is all I care about...oh...and that he is happy with what ever he decides to do with his life.
Sorry for getting so deep here. Again...worried parent here. GL is about to start Kindergarten and I'm happy, sad and worried. Happy that he is moving on...sad that I'm loosing my baby boy...well I'm worried that he won't need momma anymore. :(
Well...I'm on my way to Dallas this weekend.
My brother is going to Africa and we are going to take him out for a goodbye type celebration.
OH...Morgan is doing great!!! She can't wait to start dance in September again.
I wish we were closer to home.
Maybe GL could get some football pointers from hi pop pop.
Thanks dad for showing me how to throw a football...and teaching me to play.
I'm having to be the dad...and I'm trying really hard not to play like a girl.
:)
See ya this weekend.
Bye ya

My Football player

Here are some pictures from GL's Football practice. It was really hot today.
He is having a blast.
But, today he was getting frustrated a little bit. He couldn't keep up with the bigger boys. It's funny how much 1 year makes. He is playing with 6 and 7 year olds. So, he is one of the younger ones. But, I told him...just keep trying your best. Don't worry if Coach doesn't call your name all the time. As long as you are having fun and doing your best...that is all that matters. But, poor thing...wants to be best at everything.
1st born syndrome. :)

Not a good Day

It is 94 degrees out today.
And I'm not having a good day.
Glad to see it's not raining but the weather is stifeling.
Well...We went to this clinic to have Garrett get fitted fo rhis uniform
for flag football.
And see the doctor with his sports physical.
I'm not sure why I keep signing him up with this league.
Last year we played Basketball through them and it was so unorgaized.
I have never seen an organization run like this.
I swore I was going to use a different league.
So...well...I signed him up for flag football...and he had football camp.
When I show up...they have no idea what is going on. And this was a camp where we, Parents can leave him and come back. It was a 5 hour camp that ended an hour early because of the heat. But, they didn't tell parents this.
I'm glad I came back early to watch him.
When I come back my son is not with his group. I started getting a little worried until I couldn't find him. Finally I asked, ummm where is my son? And they said, who? I said, my 5 year old son Garrett Barton. They pointed to his group. I said, Nope...he is not there. They just looked at me.
Hello!!!!! Aren't you watching! I was mortified, to say the least.
So...I finally find him running with the big boys.
Why? He said that he got lost when he went to the bathroom.
I said, did anyone show you how to get there and wait for you?
No!
I let them have it.
I said, my son is 5 years old. Not 13.
I guess that is my faught to for not staying the enitre time in the heat! But, I was only gone for 1 hour.
So...anyway...
I go to this thing today and once again it is madness. Seems that they called to make appointments for everyone at 4:00. Instead of a 15 min. wait it was 1 hour. Believe me...I left. I'll just go to my doctor and take him where I don't have to wait. It's so hard to do anything with 2 kids.
Garrett doesn't listen when Morgan is around. I think he knows that my attention has to be on her because she is three. Let me tell you I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs.
But, I just gave him 3 chances to mind and then we left.
He was not happy and begged to stay all the way out the door.
But, I stood my ground and said, if you had listened to me we would still be in line.
Well...I guess that is it.
I think this organization is just way over their heads and sometimes just gets in too deep.
I could go on and on about them having teenagers running the collecting of money and forms. Ha!!
But, I'm going to let it go....have a glass of wine and chill out.
Maybe I'll take a bath too.

Well...other than this...Garrett and Morgan really have been minding me a lot more. The sticker thing is working.
I'm just having issues outside of the house in public places. If GL is by himself with me. he is great!
But, when Morgan is along...forget it.
So...I'm going to have to figure something out so that I don't go crazy.
We have passes to Sea World...but I haven't used them because they both act like crazy people when they are out.

I like Heather's Mr. No No idea!
My mom had a Mr. No No when I was little...but it was a fly swatter.
Hmmmm...I'm really considering the Mr. No No thing.

Guess what! It's not raining!

The rain has come to a stop for the moment. Yep, it didn't rain yesterday! Thank Goodness! Maybe we can actually go to the park this morning.
Rain is once again in the forcast.

Here comes the rain again.
Falling on my head like a memory.
Falling on my head like a new emotion.
Here it comes again. Here it comes again. OOOO Ahhhhh

My poor plants are water logged. I should have purchased all tropical plants that can handle tons of water like the Rain Forest.
Well...one good thing has come from this water. My water bill is the cheapest it has ever been during the summer months!

Bring it on.

Things are getting back to normal

Since I broke my foot, things have just not been so normal around here.
We got back from Dallas and I couldn't do much. So, it took a long time to pick up or do clothes or cook or just to do anything.
Then I helped teach in our VBS but before for two weeks before that I had to decorate the room and get things ready all by myself. So, after VBS I was ready for a break. My house really hasn't been the same since we left on vacation. But, today I seemed to have got it back under control.
I'm almost back up to getting my wash under control and the toys are all picked up. My son's room is still not cleaned...but it will be tomorrow. We are all working on it together.
It's just hard...because my foot is contantly hurting and I'm having to sit down and ice it and keep it raised. I'm really not suppose to be walking with out my boot..but you try and chase after two crazy kids and a dog without falling. yep, I'm a clutz...and I keep tripping over my own boot. So...I just took the damn thing off. With it on...I almost fell down the stairs twice. I just hurt it again when I did that. So...off it came.
I where the wrap that stabalizes my ankle at night which is helping a lot.
And since I've taken it off...my ankle is getting stronger. So..I'm not wearing it any more.
If I go shopping...I wear it there...it hurts to wear a shoe still.
But...over all...I'm much better.
I wish my husband was home. This is getting really old and I need a weekend get away when he gets home.
I'm going to run away for about 3 days where no one can find me and just relax.
I need to go to a spa or something.
And....for sure my husband and I need some time just us.
So, Morgan and Garrett have had their dinner and bath and now they are watching batman cartoons. They are up dancing to all of the songs. Garrett pretends he is batman and morgan..well she is Batwoman. I called her Batgirl and she said, No mom I'm bat WoMAN!!
Now she is sitting next to me ask me what things are saying.
This is a new thing she does. Mom, what is your belly saying? Mom, what is the butterfly saying? Mom, what is Jack saying? I'll say..the butterfly is saying...i want some water I need some nectar, I need to get home to Mexico. She says Mom what is Mexico saying? It is so hilarous. She is also going through..Why Why Why? OMG!!! Yesterday we saw a squirl being chased by a Mockingbird on our street. I stopped the van and we watched that bird chase that squirl all the way down the street. Morgan got very upset at the bird. And says...Mom, what is that squirl saying? I said, he is telling that bird to stop pecking my head. Then she said, Mom, what is that bird pecking that squirl's head? I said, because she has egss in the tree and she doesn't want him to eat her eggs. Morgan then says, Why? I said, because those eggs are going to hatch her babies. She says, Why? I said, because that is what eggs do. She says, Why? Okay..it really never stops. She just keeps going. I finally have to say...Morgan you are only aloud to ask Why 3 times.
I've been going through this for about a month now and yesterday it just hit me that is what I did with Garrett. I told him it was good to ask why, but he was only aloud to ask me why 3 times.
It actually worked with him. So, I will see how she does it.

Well, we are off to bed.
I need to start reading books.
My work is never done.

My little Morgan

You know, when you have two children sometimes you miss things.
Let me tell you the story.
I think you will get a good chuckle from it.
Well, it's been raining a lot here and we have been stuck inside for some time.
The kids love to play outside and well...it's either been rainingn or just too muddy. A couple of days we were at least able to get to the park...but it wasn't long before it started raining again.
So....the story goes...when you have two children your attention is pulled in two different ways at the same time. That is basically impossible. At times you miss things. The small things that make you smile.
Sometimes I find myself so busy picking up after them that I miss the things I love about this age that Morgan is in right now.
She is so creative and finds differnt places to hide her food all the time. It's not like she is hiding it in her room...no no no. Let me explain. I give her a bowl of dry cereal to eat. She loves to lay on the floor in the morning turn on the Little Einsteins and watch TV while eating her cereal and drinking milk. She has done this since she was able to walk. So....I usual take this time to get Garrett dressed and myself dressed, bathed blah blah.
Today while picking up I noticed a sock on the floor. Nothing unusual (I spelled that wrong) So...when I picked it up a butt load of cereal came out of it.
I laughed and laughed. I guess she found another place to eat her cereal from or hide it I guess for a raining day. :)
How did I miss seeing her do that.
She did it in the living room.
In plain sight!!! I must have been upstairs...but when I came back down she was laying down eating and drinking. Just the same place I left her.
She is a sneaky little devil. I miss being able to give her my attention 24/7. Her brother makes that rather impossible.
I love them both and love watching them grow and play together. I try and do a lot of things with them, like board games and reading books and we do plays and dances. I want them to look back when they are older and love their child hood. I hope they look back and say we had loads of fun when we were kids.
Soon, I will be purchasing a piano...Garrett says..nO I want drums. God help me there. I think a Guitar will be in our future first.
I think I'll teach myself to play first and then maybe I can teach them too.
I think music is very important to have in your child's life as well as God.
Well...I hope you enjoyed my story. I have to go make dinner now.

Have a Great Monday!

The book

Well, I'm done.
It took me all day yesterday and through the night to finish.
Only because of interuptions from the kids.
;)
Most of my reading was done when they were done for naps and at night when they went to sleep.
It was a great book.
I'm sad to see that this is the end.
I cried a couple of tears while reading the book...but a lot of answers to questions were answered. I won't spoil it for anyone.
I'm not going to tell you who dies or who lives...but it is more than 2. (That is the rumor going around that she kills of 2 main characters.) It's more than 2 people.

So...if you like Harry Potter...enjoy the book.
Happy REading.

I hope that one day she will write another book...maybe about VD at hogwarts or something...or maybe ... ooppsss...I almost spoiled it.
Just maybe future stuff...
So....

That's about it.
I'm cleaning house today. No church for me today. I know...but my house has been suffering these past few weeks.
It's hard to do anything with this major headache and broke foot I have.
Poor is me.

I've got my rubber gloves on and cleaning clothes on...the music is blaring and I'm off to start cleaning the house!!
Wish me Luck.

It's Friday!!!

yeah...I'm going to the Harry Potter Ball tonight.
Yep...the kids and I are going. I can't believe Im taking
them...they will probalby fall asleep.
But, I just can't wait until tomorrow when the store opens to purchase the book.
:)
It's the last book.
and I've never done anything like this before..not even for a moive.
So...I thought what fun the kids and I could have together.
I'll have to bring a pillow and blanket for them so that they can sleep.
I'll have to take pictures...oh...my camera is freaking broke.
Well...I'm off.

OH Heather the necklaces are awesome! Thank you so much.
I'll be sure to pass out your cards.

I can't wait for my friends to see them.

I'm off now...I'll blog later...after I finish the book.

Do you ever feel this way?

Do you ever wish your name was something other than Mommy???
Today, it was Mommy, Momma, Mom, Mommy, MOMMY!!! All day long.
It never stopped. My daughter says Mommy every time she says anything and
well...that is a lot of Mommy's...and then my son...well...he has to keep up
with her..so...Today..I am all Mommy'd out.
Please change my name...for one day.
I would be happy with D or Dana or Mrs. Barton or hell..I'd be happy with being called Daddy.
It would just be nice to be called something other than Mommy on days like this.

Oh...but I love being their Mommy. I can't imagine any other job at the moment.
:)

I just need a volum or something to help calm my nerves a bit.
I think after they go to be I'll have a glass of wine and soak in a hot bath.

Calgon take me away!!!

Fun filled day today

We went to the park today and then to Toys R Us. We didn't purchase anything, we were just looking. I'm trying to teach them that you don't always have to buy somehting when you go to the store. Money doesn't grow on trees type of thing. We talked about Santa and what toys they wanted for X-mas and Birthday.
We are looking at buying a Wii. Toys R Us didn't have any until Sunday and I will have to miss church in order to get one. Hmmm??? What should I do. :)
Well....I don't know. If I get up there early..it opens at 9:00 am I think...I should be able to get back up to church by 10:45...we will see.
I'm not sure I want to purchase it until Kirtus gets back.
So...now it looks like he will be back at the end of Sept some time.
That really sucks. I feel like I'm about to have a nervous break down.
My parents think I should just move home...and I have to say I agree with them. I'm not really sure why I have to stay here any longer. But, for now...it is where I am and maybe next year we can move back. That is what I'm praying for.

It all depends!!!

Well...that's about all that is going on here today.

Enjoy your weekend.

I can't wait for my necklaces. When I get them I'll try and get a picture taken and post them for all to see.

Better day

Today is going to be a better day.
I can already tell.
However, I have a headache and I feel like puking.
I think it was from all the stress yesterday.
I'm much better today...I just need this headache to leave now.
The carpet is still wet...but getting better. I think I can fix the ceiling pretty easy but patching it a little and then painting the ceiling.
It's not too bad.
Kirtus if you are readin gthis...please call me today.
WEll..I have stuff to get done and ready for the maids on Friday.
Ta Ta for now!!

uggg

So, today Morgan was taking a shower and she put a wash cloth over the drain in the shower and it back up and started flowing out of the shower onto the ground. So...now my entire bath room is covered in water and it went down through the ceiling and now our ceiling is wet and dripping and the carept down stairs is soaking wet too.
My carpet did need a good washing but I did't want it to happen this way.
So...at least we have a WET VAC.
Thank you my husband. I always thought that think was kind of stupid to have, bulky and heavy and a pain to use. But, now it is a life saver. It helped me save the carpet for at least until you get home. Then we can replace all of this with hard woods and upstairs bath room with tile...and we will never have to worry about this again.!!!!
I love my daughter. I know she didn't mean to do it. But, I'm still upset.
It is so hard to do this without a break. I would have caught it if I wasn't trying to take care of Garrett's needs.
They are really stretching me thin sometimes. But, I guess maybe one day I'll look back at this and laugh. I hope so. Because right now I really trying to laugh about this and when I see the ceiling all I want to do is cry.
God help me.

ho hum

Well, yesterday we went and got school supplies at Walmart.
My baby is going to Kindergarten. I'm so proud of him.
Sunday I went and got school clothes for him and a book about Kindergarten and some others about space. He is going to be an astronaut when he grows up. Mommy is so proud. So is Daddy. Last night I was reading his book about space and we were learning about the 3 states of matter. Solid, Liquid and Gas. It is a little advanced for a 5 year old, but I tried to explain it in terms that he may understand. I told him Rocks are solid...because they are hard and have a shape. I told him Liquids are like water...because they flow and take the shape of whatever cup or container is holding it. And then Gas...well...that was difficult. Because he kept thinking that Gas was like the liquid Gasoline. :) It was so cute. It was hard to explain to him that sometimes one word can mean two different things.
Then we talked about the planets. Which is his favorite. He tells me now, "Mom, I can't go to Juipitor any more, because Jupitor will crush me if I go there and I will die and go to heaven." Now he says he wants to see the volcanoes on Vensus.
I also purchased some flash cards to work on his addition. He is doing pretty well. He can add the 0's and the 1's pretty well. The 2's and 3's are what we are working on now. Not going so well...so we are just doing it from time to time. I don't want to frustrate him.
Morgan is a little upset because she wants to go to school with Garrett. She is going to really miss her brother. We've been talking to Garrett and what his schedule will be like. I've been telling him that he won't be able to play outside until his homework is done. And Morgan said, "Mom, what about my homework?" I want to do some homework.
She is also the best little helper ever. She helps me put clothes in the wash and loves to help me cook and mop and vaccum. However, she will not clean her room. Even if I help her...she says, "Mom...I can't help you...I'm too tired or Mom, my legs hurt I need to lay down...or Mom I'm too sick." I've never seen a child make so many excuses at "3" not to clean her room. She is a little toot. Her vocabulary is just growing and growing every day. She speaks so much better than her brother did at this age. I think that is because of her big brother. For a long time she would not speak. She would just look at you. It was the oddest thing. When she looked at you...it was like she was looking right through your eyes.
So, dad comes home in about a month. Morgan is really missing her Daddy. She talks about him coming home all the time. One day last week, she thought she heard him and starts yelling for him. I asked her, why are you calling for him? She said, mom Dad's home...Dad's home...I heard him. She was so sad after she realized that he wasn't there.
But...maybe at the end of August Dad will really be home. We really really really really miss him.
(Kirtus...I need a new camera...did I tell you...mine is broke)
Well..I've got work to do.
I'm off...like a dirty shirt.

Saturday

Well, now Garrett is sick with a 103 fever. He wasn't able to participate last night in his Vacation Bible school program. Poor thing...I know he was really sick because he was going to sing on stage and there is pretty much nothing that will keep him from doing that.
He asked if I would call Miss Amanda to watch him and Morgan so he could lay on the couch and get better. So...I did. I hate it when he gets sick, but he is so loving and sweet and I just really baby him. ;) Well...he is my baby boy after all.
Today we went up to the church to help clean up. We stayed for about an hour. I had all I could with Morgan and Garrett and back home we went.
Morgan is really getting more and more verbal every day. She really knows how to use her words. Little stink.
Today I said, you're being a little Turkey. And she says, Mom, I"m not a Turkey!! You a Turkey! I said, Gobble Gobble. She said, Mom, that's not funny. It was the cutest thing. She just stood there no smile...hands on hips, scowl on face. And says, Mom, that's not funny. I laughed so hard...and she never cracked a smile or anything. She is the biggest stinker.
Well, Daddy comes home in 1 more month and we can't wait. Then off to Japan he will go maybe some other places...which sucks...but hopefully I will get to visit him.

Well...that's all for today.
I'm going to lay down and take a nap.

Old pics

This is my and my cousins Amy, and Nikki, baby...Marc Wesley.

My dad and and a little me at Six Flags in Arlington.

This is me holding Marc Wesley. This was before Wade was born.

This is X-mas at my Aunt Libby's house. We are singing X-mas carols. But, I'm not really into singing them. I was very very shy when I was little.

This last picture is of me and my dad. Notice the long hippie hair!!! Yeah...I'm not sure what he was thinking. I'm surprised my name isn't Moon Beam or Star Light.
PEACE

I had to post some really old pictures of my dad and his family and you can probably see one or two of me in there.
I look so much like Morgan...or is it the other way around.

:)

Lazy Sunday

Morgan has been sick all day with fever and a bad cough.
I've been giving her Triminic "Flu" cough and fever medicine.
VBS starts tomorrow.
It is 6:41 at night and she seems to be doing better.

But now my ears itch and my throat is starting to hurt.
I hope I'm not getting what she has.

We are all laying on the floor watching Harry Potter #3. This is my favorite one...I was so disappointed with the 4th movie because they left so many good things out of it.
( I read the books too )
I'm not expecting to much from the #5 movie that comes out in a week and 1/2.

Ummm...well...my foot still hurts like hell.
I wish it would just get better already.

Oh...on a good note!!! WE HAD A 60% CHANCE OF RAIN TODAY....AND IT DID NOT RAIN!!!
FINALLY THE SUN CAME OUT AND DRIED UP ALL THE RAIN.
(and the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again) ;)
My flowers are dying with all of this rain. And my grass is growing like crazy and it is just gross.
My roses are really pissed off...because it's just too much water.
I'm sure they were really happy today with all the sun.

We went to Walmart today and the krickets were every where.
YUCK!!!

I hate krickets..they are just nasty.
And the locust in the trees...are good and loud. I guess all of this rain brought them early this year.

Well...I need to get my kids in the bath and start getting ready for bed.
Then I have about 3 loads to do tonight.
Fun fun!!!

It's never ending.

I'm about to go to bed.

It's been a long day.
Morgan has been trying to get sick. She has a raspy voice and is coughing.
Poor thing. She has just laid around all day.
She was so tired..but just would not take a nap.
Uggg...partly because of her brother...but also...because she just didn't feel great.
I gave her some benedryl and motrin to help her sleep tonight.
She wanted me to rock her so I rocked her and sang her a little song.
She loves it when I do that. I make up silly songs.
I read her favorite book Green Eggs and Ham!!! I know...she just loves it so much. I think because that guy...not sam the other one...gets so mad and upset at Sam and it's just really cute. I always hated that book growing up...but I love to see her face when I read it...so I don't mind.
Garrett wanted me to read his Science books again for the 50th time. That boy...I don't know what he will do if he doesn't make it into NASA's space program. I guess when Daddy comes home...it's another trip to Houston.
Garrett starts football soon. I got a call today from the people sponsoring his league and he gets his uniform July 28th...along with a sports physical and then on July 30th practice starts. August...will be 3 days a week of practice.
Wonderful...hot August.
At least he is just doing flag...no pads.
I hope he likes it...he is also signed up for Soccer. But that doesn't start until Sept....and then ends in Nov. Then he starts basketball.
And then Soccer again in the spring.
Oh...he also will be going to school during all of this too.
Oh...and Awana's on Wed. night...Sunday school and church on Sundays.
Man...we are going to be busy.

Well....my little babies are growing up. My camera broke in WDW....so...no pics until I save up and get a new one.
I want a really nice one...so I'm going to save some money and get what I really want.

That's about all that happened today...other than cleaning the kitchen...clothes...board games (because once again it rained, playing with Jack our dog and oh...Harry Potter...I got the PC game and I've been playing that during the kids naps.
Its fun...
I'm off to bed.

Can't wait unitl July 21 and the 13th....HP movie and 7th book being released!!! Hurry up already.
Later People!

Our Vacation

We had a blast at WDW in Florida. We drove 1600 miles. Stayed over the first night in Tallahasse (I know I spelled it wrong) and then into Orlando the next day. The first day there they upgraded our room from just the standard room to a room with a balcony view. We could see the little lagoon bay from our window and got to see three weddings that took place in the gazeboo courtyard. It was awesome. There were bunny rabbits in the courtyard every morning. We got to meet lots of different Disney characters. Morgan was afraid of all of them except Minney Mouse and the Princesses. Garrett loved everyone and everything. He was so excited.
All and All we had a great time and got to do a lot. I would have liked to do a lot more than what we did...but it is just almost impossible when you have two small children. If you ever go with small children, just relax, sit back and enjoy being at Disney World. It was extremely hot during the day and the crowds were crazy except at the World Showcase and Epcot. We didn't get to see Epcot or the Animal Kingdom. We spent most of our time at Magic Kingdom and the World Showcase and our hotel. Our hotel had an awesome pool for the kids and they enjoyed hanging out and swimming there more than anything. I also took my cousin Katie. We all had a good time. Enjoy the pictures.

I want to go home

Can I just say....I want to go home. I want to go back to Dallas so bad I can't stand it anymore. I'm so homesick....it's making me sick at my stomach. I'm pretty much done with South Texas. I just want to go home.
I really wish we could sell this house and find a place in Dallas and just move back home.
Well....that's about all I have to say.
My foot still hurts and I'm going to the doctor tomorrow.
I'll post an update soon.

Back from Florida and burnt

So, we are back from vacation and I'm feeling so relieved to finally be home. Driving to Florida with a 5 year old and a 3 year old all by myself is just a bit nerve racking.
WDW was a blast and I hope to return soon...maybe next year with Kirtus this time...oh...and did I mention I'm never driving that far again.

But...the bad news is that when I got home...I fell and broke my foot. Yep..you heard it... I have a broken ankle really.
Ugg...so...I'm in one of those boot things and will be driving back to SA tomorrow or maybe even Thursday. To tell you the truth..I never want to go home.
I want to stay in Dallas forever.
WEll...I need to go and put my foot on ice again...it's hurting.
I'll post some good pics of WDW later.

enjoy!
have a great week.
